New York, NY (11/21/2012)The SoHo Playhouse (15 Vandam Street, NYC) is now offering Black Friday pricing to the explosive Off-Broadway play, 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche, and Baba Brinkman’s new theatrical mix-tape, Ingenious Nature. Tickets will be on sale for this weekend’s performances beginning Friday at midnight for $25 by using the code “BLACKF”. Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.sohoplayhouse.com or calling (866) 811-4111.

Raved about by Ben Brantley of the New York Times (“ventures into heady excesses of absurdism”), Time Out New York (four stars, and Critics’ Pick, “gleaming with comic polish”) and Time Out Chicago (four stars, “smart, sharp, and hysterically funny”) and coming off a sold out run at FringeNYC where it won for Outstanding Production, 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche take us to 1956 where the Susan B. Anthony Society for the Sisters of Gertrude Stein are having their annual quiche breakfast. Will they be able to keep their cool when Communists threaten their idyllic town? 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche is presented by Tony Award winner John Arthur Pinckard (Clybourne Park, Silence! The Musical) and written by Evan Linder and Andrew Hobgood with contributions by Sarah Gitenstein, Mary Hollis Inboden, Megan Johns, Thea Lux, Beth Stelling and Maari Suorsa. The play is directed by Sarah Gitenstein, and stars Caitlin Chuckta, Rachel Farmer, Megan Johns, Thea Lux, and Maari Suorsa.

Ingenious Nature is a new theatrical mix-tape, written and performed by Baba Brinkman, the Canadian rap artist, writer, and creator of The Canterbury Tales Remixed (“Delightful!” The New York Times) and The Rap Guide to Evolution (2011 Drama Desk Award Nominee), both of which played at the SoHo Playhouse in 2011. Everyone’s looking for love, or sex, occasionally even both. The science of evolutionary psychology claims to explain why, and how, this state of affairs came about. But can it help us find the right one? A young man decides to take the “science of mating” seriously in his personal quest for true romance. Will the theory work in practice? It turns out, ovulation studies can make for awkward first-date conversation. Ingenious Nature is directed by Darren Lee Cole, with music and turntablism by Mr. Simmonds, lighting by Jason Boyd and projections by Erik Pearson.

5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche will play on the SoHo Playhouse Mainstage Fridays and Saturdays at 10:00 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 3:00 p.m. until January 6, 2013. The running time is approximately 75 minutes without an intermission. General tickets are available for $40 and premium tickets for $50. Student tickets are available for $25. Ingenious Nature will play on the SoHo Playhouse Mainstage Wednesdays through Sundays at 7:30pm, until January 6, 2013. The running time is approximately 90 minutes without an intermission. Tickets for previews are available for $45. During the run, tickets are available for $65.

SoHo Playhouse Season Subscriptions are available for $99 and include 1 ticket to all 3 SoHo Playhouse shows (The Old Man and the Old Moon, Ingenious Nature, and Hamlet in Bed), a $195 value. To purchase tickets, visit: www.sohoplayhouse.com or call (866) 811-4111.

As a thank you to fans, bring your ticket from a past 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche performance for a free ticket to a performance during the extension. Guests may also receive a discounted $30 ticket. This offer will be available two hours before curtain at the box office and is subject to availability.
