Once in a blue moon, you’ll get someone who does it all. Enter: Iris Bahr. Writer, actor, director, producer, and low-key genius, Iris has made a name for herself as comic and thinker, currently treading the boards at Cherry Lane Theatre in her solo piece I Lost You There. She has appeared in numerous television series, including an appearance that goes down in silver-screen history on “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” Her TV series “Svetlana” has received much acclaim and her theatre piece, DAI, based in a Tel-Aviv café before a suicide bomb, won the Lucille Lortel Award for Best Solo Show. On the heels of a successful opening night at Cherry Lane, Iris Bahr is On the Couch, and we’re thrilled about it.

What do you consider to be your best asset?

Dry wit (If you mean physical asset, I’m just delighted my boobs have reminded festive after childbirth.)

What was your proudest moment?

Giving birth to my son. And jumping off the ski lift on Curb Your Enthusiasm is a close second. 🙂

What is your favorite drink?

Glass of Brunello.

What is your favorite food?

Sushi.

What is your favorite condiment?

Mayo. (I know. love it or hate it).

What is your current obsession?

Searching for one.

If you could give up one of your vices, what would it be?

Chocolate. With almonds. Or Marzipan. God, I love marzipan, but not the sweet fruit shaped kind at the cash register. I’m talking quality overpriced marzipan.

What is the one professional accomplishment you long for most?

Broadway run.

What is the one thing you waste too much money on?

Taxis.

What is the one activity you waste too much time doing?

Reading news websites before I go to sleep.

What do you consider to be the single greatest threat to your health?

Lack of sleep.

What is the single best trait you inherited or learned from your parents?

Hard work.

What is the single worst trait you inherited or learned from your parents?

Worrying about loved ones’ health.

What in the world most thrills you?

My son’s smile and travel.

What current trend in popular culture most irritates you?

Oversharing on social media.

What was the single most embarrassing moment you’ve ever experienced on the job?

Oh, the list is long. Well, maybe not on the job but I’ve had numerous awkward celebrity run ins.

What is your favorite place in the world?

Pushkar, India.

What is the most important trait you seek in a romantic partner?

Integrity.

Do you prefer the company of dogs or cats?

Toss up. Depends on extent of dog breath and how soft and fuzzy the cat is.

Find the love of my life.
