ABOUT MINALIMA

Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima started working together in 2001 to imagine and create the entire graphic universe of all the Harry Potter™ films.

Motivated by a shared artistic vision, in 2009 they founded a graphic design studio, with the objective of creating distinctive and unconventional design and illustration for the entertainment and publishing industries. They named it Studio MinaLima.

As Studio MinaLima, they designed graphic props for films such as Sweeney Todd, The Golden Compass, and The Imitation Game; created their Collective Nouns art print collection; and crafted MinaLima Classics, the internationally successful series of illustrated books.

Miraphora and Eduardo have continued their involvement in the Wizarding World franchise with numerous design commissions, from theme park design to marketing and publishing. A new chapter of imagining this world came in 2015, designing the graphic props for the Fantastic Beasts™ film series.

In 2016, House of MinaLima opened its doors in London: an immersive gallery and shop showcasing their treasury of graphic works. Since then, the experiential narrative space has also welcomed visitors in Osaka, Tokyo, Seoul, New York and Paris – globally celebrating the idiosyncrasies of Miraphora and Eduardo’s ideas and their passion for storytelling through design.

ABOUT “THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA”

Based on Gaston Leroux’s 1910 novel, Le Fantôme de L’Opéra, The Phantom of the Opera tells the story of a mysterious masked figure who lurks beneath the Paris Opera House, exercising a reign of terror over all who inhabit it. He falls madly in love with a young soprano, Christine Daaé, and devotes himself to nurturing her extraordinary talents, employing all of the devious methods at his command.

Cameron Mackintosh’s acclaimed stage productions of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera are widely considered some of the most beautiful and spectacular in history, playing to over 160 million people in 47 territories and 195 cities in 21 languages.

Having premiered at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London’s West End on October 9, 1986 and debuted on Broadway at the Majestic Theatre on January 26, 1988, The Phantom of the Opera has won over 70 major theater awards. On January 9, 2006, The Phantom of the Opera became the longest-running show in Broadway history, surpassing Cats with its 7,486th performance. The production’s nearly 14,000 performances have been seen by 19.5 million people and grossed $1.3 billion.

On the eve of its 38th birthday, The Phantom of the Opera is currently playing at His Majesty’s Theatre, London. As part of a season of the world’s greatest stage musicals in cinemas, the iconic The Phantom of the Opera: Live at The Royal Albert Hall is set for release in 350 cinemas across the country on the November 3 and 5, 2024.
