BEN PLATT: LIVE AT THE AHMANSON

HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL TWO-WEEK CONCERT RESIDENCY
FEATURING STAR-STUDDED LINEUP OF SPECIAL GUESTS

MUST CLOSE DECEMBER 21!

HIGHEST GROSSING CONCERT EVENT IN AHMANSON THEATRE HISTORY

Los Angeles, CA (December 19, 2025) – Ben Platt: Live at the Ahmanson presented by Center Theatre Group (CTG) completed the first six performances of its two-week concert residency and now heads into its final weekend of performances; the show must close Sunday, December 21. The engagement features a surprise guest appearance every performance, and to date, guests have included Josh Groban on opening night, Khalid, Amber Riley, Coco Jones, Demi Lovato, Rufus Wainwright, Zoey Deutch, and Gwyneth Paltrow.

With Ben Platt: Live at the Ahmanson, the Tony, Grammy, and Emmy Award winner has come back to his Los Angeles hometown theatre where he began his career appearing in productions of the acclaimed Broadway hit Caroline, or Change and Dead End. The show is already the highest grossing concert event in Ahmanson history.

“When you think of the very best in musical theatre, it simply doesn’t get better than Ben Platt, whose stage presence and charisma make him one of the seminal performers of his generation,” said Snehal Desai, CTG Brindell & Milton Gottlieb Artistic Director. “This December, it has been a delight to welcome Ben back to the Ahmanson Theatre where he thrilled audiences not just with his own vocal prowess, but also by surprising them every performance with an all-star lineup of guest performers from stage and screen. I can’t wait to see who he has in store for us during the final weekend of performances. This show has truly been a holiday gift for all of Los Angeles.”

Platt joins a very exclusive group of music icons who have played concert engagements at the Ahmanson that includes Diana Ross, Bernadette Peters, and Lea Salonga. Last May, Platt reopened the legendary Palace Theatre on Broadway with a three-week solo residency, Ben Platt: Live at the Palace. The show sold out houses and had the highest weekly increase in attendance and second highest increase in gross of any running Broadway show at the time.

“Center Theatre Group, and specifically the Ahmanson Theatre, has a rich legacy of hosting some of the biggest names and most talented performers from Broadway and beyond. We have been interested in programming more concerts at the Ahmanson, so when we connected with Ben and his team about this opportunity, it felt like a no brainer,” said Meghan Pressman, CTG Managing Director/CEO. “We are grateful to have Ben back in LA for the holidays and look forward to our next guest artist residency live from the Ahmanson.”

Charles McNulty in the Los Angeles Times said Ben Platt: Live at the Ahmanson is an “exquisitely staged show. Director Michael Arden brings the same level of meticulous care that earned him a Tony Award this year for the musical Maybe Happy Ending.” While Just Jared said Ben Platt: Live at the Ahmanson has “incredible vocals and a perfect set list.”

Ben Platt: Live at the Ahmanson is the most recent offering under the CTG:FWD banner, a programming initiative created by CTG Brindell & Milton Gottlieb Artistic Director Snehal Desai and dedicated to community gatherings, legacy projects, and special events.

ABOUT BEN PLATT

Tony, Grammy, and Emmy Award winner Ben Platt reopened the legendary Palace Theatre last May with a three-week solo residency, Ben Platt: Live at the Palace. The show played to sold out houses and had the highest weekly increase in attendance and second highest increase in gross of any running Broadway show at the time. Previously, he made his highly anticipated return to the New York Stage as Leo Frank in Parade at NY City Center, which transferred to Broadway. The musical opened to rave reviews and led to a Tony Award for Best Revival and Platt’s second personal Tony Award nomination. In 2023, Ben produced, co-wrote and starred in the award-winning Sundance darling Theater Camp, which was released by Searchlight Pictures.

An accomplished recording artist, Platt has released three albums – 2019’s Sing to Me Instead, 2021’s Reverie, and 2024’s Honeymind. He completed three hugely successful solo tours following the release of each subsequent album, which saw him headlining sellout crowds at such important venues as The Hollywood Bowl, Madison Square Garden and Radio City Music Hall.

Platt won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his groundbreaking performance as Evan in Dear Evan Hansen, as well as the Drama League Award for Distinguished Performance (youngest recipient in history). He later reprised his role in the Universal Pictures film adaptation alongside Julianne Moore and Amy Adams. Ben starred in Ryan Murphy’s popular Netflix series “The Politician”, where he served as the executive producer – his performance earned him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. Additionally, Platt began filming Merrily We Roll Along, an adaptation of the iconic Sondheim musical alongside Beanie Feldstein and Paul Mescal. The film will be shot over a 20-year period and is being directed by Richard Linklater. Other film and TV highlights include: Pitch Perfect 1 & 2, The People We Hate at the Wedding, Ricki & the Flash, and a guest appearance on “Will & Grace”.
