OF PLAYBILL MAGAZINE
first woman in history to hold prestigious role
New York, NY (May 7, 2025) – PLAYBILL Inc. is proud to announce that Jolie Schaffzin has been named Publisher of PLAYBILL magazine. A veteran of the publication with 27 years of dedicated service, Schaffzin becomes the first woman to hold the prestigious role.
Following a career at advertising agencies, and sales roles at both Condé Nast and Hearst, Ms. Schaffzin joined PLAYBILL as Director of Fashion & Beauty Advertising and was later promoted to Associate Publisher. Over the decades, she has built deep relationships across the advertising and theatre industries, championing the power of storytelling both on stage and in print.
A passionate, lifelong theatergoer, Schaffzin also proudly supports organizations that strengthen the arts community, including Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and the Dramatist Guild Foundation. She serves on the Advisory Committee of the American Theatre Wing.
