Aspen, CO (February 3, 2025) – Today, Theatre Aspen (Jed Bernstein, Producing Director) announced Sirius-XM radio host Seth Rudetsky is returning to Aspen to host a one-night-only performance of his “Broadway Concert Series” with Tony Award®-winning actress Stephanie J. Block (The Cher Show, 9 to 5) on Saturday, February 22 at 7:30PM at the Harris Concert Hall (960 North 3rd Street, Aspen, CO).
Producing Director Jed Bernstein said, “We’re so pleased to have Seth Rudetsky return to Aspen after his success here last year with a new, highly lauded actor. Stephanie J. Block is one of our favorite performers and we can’t wait for Aspen audiences to witness her vocal prowess live for this unforgettable evening.”
SiriusXM Broadway host Seth Rudetsky will be joining forces with Tony Award winner Stephanie J. Block for an evening of show-stopping numbers and hilarious stories. This unique concert will be filled with “just between us” funny/behind-the-scenes stories mixed with incredible performances of the songs Ms. Block has performed on Broadway, on tour, and all over the world. The set-list will have Ms. Block recreating raise-the-roof performances from her extensive Broadway career including her first Broadway show when she starred opposite Hugh Jackman in The Boy From Oz! Seth and Stephanie will travel through shows like Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5: The Musical, Falsettos (her Tony nominated performance as Trina) and her recent critically acclaimed turn as the Baker’s Wife in Into The Woods.
Doors open for the concert at 7PM ahead of the 7:30PM show. General admission tickets start at $55 per person. A limited number of VIP tickets at $125 will be available with prime seating and a meet-and-greet following the performance. BIOGRAPHIES
SETH RUDETSKY. When Broadway shut down, Seth and his native Texan husband James Wesley started hosting the livestream “Stars In The House” which raises money for The Entertainment Community Fund (formerly The Actors Fund). So far, they’ve raised over $1.2 million dollars and recently celebrated their three-year anniversary of the show. Before that, Seth spent many years on Broadway as a pianist and conductor as well as two years as a comedy writer on “The Rosie O’Donnell Show” (three Emmy nominations with his co-writers). He is now the afternoon deejay on the Sirius-XM Broadway channel as well as the host of “Seth Speaks.” He performed his show, Deconstructing Broadway, in London, Boston (Irne award), and L.A. (with Barbra Streisand in the audience!). He co-wrote and co-starred in Disaster! (New York Times’ critics’ pick) on Broadway which was licensed by Music Theater International and is being performed around the country. He’s written the books Seth’s Broadway Diary Volume 1 and 2 (Dress Circle publishing) and has also authored two young adult novels My Awesome/Awful Popularity Plan and The Rise and Fall of a Theater Geek (Random House) and the just available Musical Theatre for Dummies. Seth and James co-produced the “What the World Needs Now Is Love” recording with Broadway Records (number one on iTunes) featuring amazing singers like Jessie Mueller, Carole King, Audra McDonald, Lin-Manuel Miranda and so many more to help the victims and families of the Orlando Pulse Nightclub Shooting. He and James also produce and host the yearly “Voices for the Voiceless” concert to benefit You Gotta Believe which helps older foster kids find families (stars have included Tina Fey and Megan Hilty) as well as producing/hosting 13 Concert For America benefits which help non-profits like National Immigration Law Center and MAACP (stars have included Barry Manilow and Chita Rivera). James and Seth run “Seth’s Big Fat Broadway Cruise” which brings Broadway stars and Broadway lovers together to fabulous destinations! STEPHANIE J. BLOCK has established herself as one of the most relevant and versatile voices in contemporary musical theater. Ms. Block has just returned from London starring in the 2024 West End revival of Kiss Me, Kate. Her most recent appearance on Broadway was in last season’s wildly popular and acclaimed revival of Into the Woods as The Baker’s Wife. She continued on with that role in the US National Tour. 2023 also brought her reimagining the role of Norma Desmond for the Kennedy Center’s production of Sunset Boulevard for which she won the 2024 Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Lead Performer in a Musical. These two back-to-back powerhouse performances had critics touting her as “the current reigning queen of American musical theater”.
Ms. Block won the 2019 Tony Award® for Best Leading Actress in a Musical, as well as winning The Drama Desk Award and Outer Critics Award for her STAR turn in The Cher Show. Stephanie was also recognized for her role of Trina in Lincoln Center Theatre’s 2016 revival of Falsettos garnering her the Tony Award®, Drama Desk and Outer Critics nominations for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. In 2013, she was recognized with both the Drama Desk and Tony Award® nomination(s) for Best Leading Actress in a Musical for her portrayal of Alice Nutting/Edwin Drood in The Roundabout Theater’s production of The Mystery of Edwin Drood. These three productions marked three Tony nominations in a six-year span, a feat very few Broadway actors have attained. Other Broadway credits include Reno Sweeney in the 2011 Tony Award–winning revival of Anything Goes, 9 to 5: The Musical as Judy Bernly (Drama Desk nomination). She created the roles of Grace O’Malley in The Pirate Queen and Liza Minnelli in The Boy From Oz (opposite Hugh Jackman). Block is well known for her portrayal as Elphaba in the Broadway company of Wicked, as well as originating the role in the First North American Tour (Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in Musical).
