New York, NY (October 14, 2025) – Lincoln Center Theater and Seaview announced today that comedian and actress Ego Nwodim (“Saturday Night Live”) will join the lineup for The Comedy Series at LCT’s Claire Tow Theater this fall, completing the series of comedians.
Ego Nwodim’s comedy show, directed by Zhailon Levingston, will play at The Claire Tow Theater beginning Wednesday, November 19 through Sunday, November 23. This marks Nwodim’s first time performing Off-Broadway.

As previously announced, Emmy®-winning comedian, actor, and one of the most global voices in stand-up comedy, Vir Das, will kick off the series with his comedy show Vir Das: “Hey Stranger,” directed by Moritz von Stuelpnagel beginning Wednesday, October 29 through Sunday, November 9. Jerrod Carmichael Live on Stage at Lincoln Center Theater will play beginning Wednesday, November 12 through Sunday, November 16, and Sam Jay: “We The People” will play from Wednesday, December 3 through Sunday, December 14.
LCT3 x Seaview’s The Comedy Series will serve as a creative vehicle for the comedians to develop new material and theatrical pieces. Justin Townsend will serve as the Production Designer for the entire series.

BIOGRAPHIES
Actress, producer, and host Ego Nwodim was recently recognized by Variety as part of their New York Women’s Impact Report for her trailblazing work across multiple entertainment platforms.
During her seven-year tenure on “Saturday Night Live,” Ego created several viral moments including the iconic “Miss Eggy” and “Lisa from Temecula,” establishing herself as a groundbreaking voice in comedy and earning NAACP nominations in both 2024 and 2025 for her work on the show.
She most recently wrapped production on Matt Spicer’s Little Brother, the upcoming Netflix comedy alongside John Cena and Eric Andre.
Ego also hosts her own podcast “THANKS, DAD,” where she invites guests to be her “Dad for the Day” for funny, heartfelt conversations about parenting and family experiences. The show has featured A-list guests including Andy Cohen, Randall Park, Kyle Mooney, and Bill Burr, with season two currently in production.
Recent television work includes Season 2 of Peacock’s “Poker Face” alongside Natasha Lyonne and John Mulaney; HBO’s “It’s Florida, Man” with Anna Faris and Sam Richardson; Apple TV+’s anthology series “Roar;” and HBO Max’s “Miracle Workers.” Additional credits include Hulu’s “Shrill,” “The Real Bros Of Simi Valley,” and IFC’s “Brockmire.”
Her film work spans Netflix’s romantic comedy Players with Gina Rodriguez; Spin Me Round opposite Allison Brie and Aubrey Plaza; Sony’s Lyle Lyle Crocodile with Javier Bardem; TriStar Pictures’ The Broken Hearts Gallery; and Good Burger 2. She lends her voice to Universal’s upcoming Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie alongside Gloria Estefan, Kristen Wiig, and Kyle Mooney, releasing September 26, 2025.
Prior to SNL, Ego performed mainstage at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Los Angeles and was featured as a New Face at Montreal’s Just For Laughs Festival in 2016. Her sold-out one-woman show Great Black Women…And Then There’s Me ran at UCB Theatre in 2017.
Ego is also making her mark in fashion. She was chosen as one of the hosts for this year’s Vogue Met Gala red carpet, where she wore custom Christopher John Rogers.
Zhailon Levingston (Director) is a Louisiana-raised storyteller, director, and activist who co-directed Cats: The Jellicle Ball, an immersive reimagining of the classic musical that premiered in 2024 at New York City’s Perelman Arts Center. The production earned him an Obie Award as well as Drama Desk, Drama League and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations for Outstanding Direction of a Musical. It will transfer to Broadway in the spring.
Zhailon’s first “Broadway” job was selling tickets to Broadway shows in Times Square. In 2017 he sold concessions for multiple Broadway theaters. At 27 years old, he became the youngest Black director in Broadway history, directing the Broadway production of Chicken and Biscuits. His other directing credits include Wonderful Town at New York City Center Encores; Reconstructing at Brooklyn Academy of Music (co-directed with Rachel Chavkin); Little Miss Perfect (Olney Theatre Center); Patience at Second Stage Theatre; and Table 17 at MCC Theater (Lortel Award nominee for Outstanding Direction) and is currently playing Los Angeles’ Geffen Playhouse.
Zhailon previously served as resident director of Tina: The Tina Turner Musical on Broadway, and the associate director of Hadestown in South Korea.
Levingston is also a board member of the Broadway Advocacy Coalition, Artistic Director of Inheritance Theatre Project, and co-created a ‘Theatre of Change’ course at Columbia University School of Law that is still being taught today. Once a year he returns to his hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana to direct community theater as a way to stay connected to his roots.
