New York, NY (October 9, 2025) – Last night, producers Bill Damaschke, Seaview, Sonia Friedman, Kristin Chenoweth, and the cast of The Queen of Versailles celebrated their first preview performance at the St. James Theatre (246 W 44th St.) with Fries, Fizz, and the first of its kind official “Stage Door SharpieTM” marker.
As Sharpie, part of the Newell Brands portfolio, steps into the world of Broadway, it proudly unveils the “Stage Door Sharpie” marker—a custom-designed permanent marker created exclusively for its partnership with Queen of Versailles. These exclusive, event-only markers, feature show-specific branding and themed ink, celebrating Sharpie’s iconic role in capturing autographs, memories, and moments at the stage door while supplies last.
Each “Stage Door Sharpie” marker is adorned with Queen of Versailles visual elements and branding, making it both a functional tool and a collectible keepsake. The activation reinforces Sharpie’s place in the signature space, now extending into the cultural heartbeat of Broadway, where fans and performers connect in bold, expressive ways.

The “Stage Door Sharpie” marker will be handed out after every performance of The Queen of Versailles at the St. James Theatre Stagedoor (246 W 44th St.) while supplies last.
Performances for The Queen of Versailles, starring Kristin Chenoweth, began on Broadway on Wednesday, October 8, ahead of a Sunday, November 9, opening night.
The Queen of Versailles on Broadway stars Tony® and Emmy® Winner Kristin Chenoweth and Academy Award® winner F. Murray Abraham. Directed by Tony Award® winner Michael Arden with music and lyrics by Academy Award® winner Stephen Schwartz, and a book by Olivier Award® nominee Lindsey Ferrentino, The Queen of Versailles began performances on Wednesday, October 8, with an opening night set for Sunday, November 9.
Chenoweth and Abraham will be joined by, alongside Melody Butiu (Here Lies Love) as ‘Sofia’, Stephen DeRosa (Hairspray) as ‘John’, Greg Hildreth (Company) as ‘Gary’, Tatum Grace Hopkins (Meek) as ‘Jonquil’, Isabel Keating (The Boy From Oz) as ‘Debbie’ and Nina White (Kimberly Akimbo) as ‘Victoria’. The company will also will be made up of Yeman Brown, David Aron Damane, Drew Elhamalawy, Christopher Gurr, KJ Hippensteel, Cassondra James, Andrew Kober, Jesse Kovarsky, Pablo David Laucerica, Travis Murad Leland, Ryah Nixon, Shea Renne, Michael McCorry Rose, Grace Slear, Anne Fraser Thomas, Jake Bentley Young and Sherie Rene Scott (The Last Five Years) as Standby ‘Jackie’.

Additionally, the production will include scenic & video design by Dane Laffrey, costume design by Christian Cowan, lighting design by Natasha Katz, sound design by Peter Hylenski, hair & wig design by Cookie Jordan, orchestrations by John Clancy, and casting by Stephen Kopel, CSA & Carrie Gardner, CSA at C12 Casting. Baseline Theatrical will serve as General Manager and Clarissa Marie Ligon will serve as Production Stage Manager.
