New York, NY (October 29, 2025) – Lincoln Center Theater and Seaview have released a photo of Emmy®-winning comedian, actor, and one of the most global voices in stand-up comedy, Vir Das, on stage at the Claire Tow Theater where he begins performances of Vir Das: Hey Stranger tonight, Wednesday, October 29. Directed by Moritz von Stuelpnagel, the production kicks off LCT3’s The Comedy Series, and will run through Sunday, November 9.

The series will continue with Jerrod Carmichael Live on Stage at Lincoln Center Theater beginning Wednesday, November 12 through Sunday, November 16. Ego Nwodim (“Saturday Night Live”) will play her comedy show, directed by Zhailon Levingston, beginning Wednesday, November 19 through Sunday, November 23. Finally, Sam Jay: “We The People” will play from Wednesday, December 3 through Sunday, December 14.

LCT3 x Seaview’s The Comedy Series will serve as a creative vehicle for the comedians to develop new material and theatrical pieces. Justin Townsend will serve as the Production Designer for the entire series.

Step into an evening where stand-up meets storytelling. A line-up of today’s most dynamic comedic voices will take the stage in a new collaboration between LCT3 and Seaview—not just to make you laugh, but to draw you into something deeper. This is comedy in motion: personal, and alive with discovery. Each night is a chance for these artists to test boundaries, shape new material, and explore the space between humor and truth. No two performances will be the same—because the creative process isn’t a straight line, and neither is this show. It’s comedy that’s evolving before your eyes. Join us for a bold new series where stand-up grows up—and out.

Support for LCT3 is provided by the Howard Gilman Foundation, the Blanchette Hooker Rockefeller Fund, and members of the LCT3 Council. Endowment support for LCT3 is provided by Daryl Roth, James-Keith Brown and Eric Diefenbach, and The Judith Champion Playwrights’ Vision Fund and Mel Litoff. BIOGRAPHY

Vir Das is an Emmy-winning comedian, actor, and one of the most global voices in stand-up today. The New York Times raves, “No artist embodies the globalization of stand-up like Vir Das.” His recent Netflix comedy special, Fool Volume, which he also directed, has earned praise from Vulture as “a uniquely sumptuous experience.” His previous special, Landing, premiered to universal acclaim and won the 2023 International Emmy Award for Best Comedy, following his first nomination for Vir Das: For India in 2021.

This fall, Vir makes his literary debut with his memoir, The Outsider—A story that follows his journey as a perpetual outsider, using humor to navigate heartbreak, failure, and the quest for belonging.

As India’s biggest stand-up comedian and a Bollywood star, Vir continues to break barriers and sell out venues worldwide. He has performed over 180 shows across the globe, including a celebrated run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and headlines major stages from Carnegie Hall in New York to the Eventim Apollo in London.

Beyond stand-up, Vir has created, produced, and starred in multiple acclaimed projects, including the ABC drama-comedy Whiskey Cavalier, the Netflix thriller Hasmukh, and Amazon’s travel series Jestination Unknown. He appeared in Judd Apatow’s Netflix feature The Bubble and is developing several new film and TV projects. When he’s not on screen or stage, Vir fronts India’s premier comedy-rock band, Alien Chutney.
