Musicals favor the duo. Comden & Green, Rodgers & Hammerstein, George & Ira Gershwin, and now, producers Paul Blake & Mike Bosner. These gentlemen have greatly contributed to part deux of Broadway’s golden age. With Beautiful – The Carole King Musical going strong at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre and around the world, Paul and Mike also produced Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Sunset Boulevard revival, and have more on their horizon. What do you consider to be your best asset?
Paul: My beauty and humility.
Mike: Humility.

What was your proudest moment?
P: My first Botox treatment.
M: Sitting at Radio City watching Carole King perform with our
cast at the Tony Awards.

What is your favorite drink?
P: Water.
M: Coffee.

What is your favorite food?
P: Kale.
M: Bagel and cream cheese.

What is your favorite condiment?
P: Kale.
M: Mustard (Stadium).

What is your current obsession?
P: Kale.
M: The Crown.

If you could give up one of your vices, what would it be?
P: I wish I had vices so I could give one up.
M: Coffee.

What is the one professional accomplishment you long for most?
P: A reason to give my TONY acceptance

M: Keep producing good shows!

What is the one thing you waste too much money on?
P: I’m too cheap to waste money.
M: Clothes.

What is the one activity you waste too much time doing?
P: Having facials.
M: Binging Netflix shows. There’s nothing better on a long plane
ride.

What do you consider to be the single greatest threat to your health?
P: Having facials.
M: I’m not sure how to answer. I think I’m pretty healthy??

What is the single best trait you inherited or learned from your parents?
P: My ability to answer surveys.
M: I can’t limit to one – ambition and generosity.

What is the single worst trait you inherited or learned from your parents?
P: My therapist and I have been working on this one for years.
M: I curse too much.

What in the world most thrills you?
P: Seeing a full house and happy audience at the Sondheim
Theatre who are enjoying Beautiful.
M: A good show of course.

What current trend in popular culture most irritates you?
P: I don’t keep up with popular culture.
M: Snapchat. But only because I don’t really get it.

What was the single most embarrassing moment you’ve ever experienced on the job?
P: I tend to be embarrassment -proof.
M: Be careful with reply all, that’s all I’m saying.

What is your favorite place in the world?
P: My home.
M: There’s only one New York.

What is the most important trait you seek in a romantic partner?
P: ….let me count the ways.
M: Thoughtfulness. And my wife has it in spades.

Do you prefer the company of dogs or cats?
P: I prefer my dog.
M: N/A.

What would have to happen to make today the best day of your life?
P: I treat every day as a miracle and the best day of my life.
M: I recently got married. Nothing can top it.

P: Don’t give up. Try again.
M: Keep going.
