JOIN THE SEPTEMBER CAST OF
“LOVE, LOSS, AND WHAT I WORE”
New York, NY (8/31/2011) – Producer Daryl Roth announced today that Tony Award-winner Adriane Lenox (Doubt), two-time Emmy Award nominee Janel Moloney (“The West Wing”) and film and TV veteran Joyce Van Patten will join the upcoming cast of the hit Off Broadway show Love, Loss, and What I Wore, beginning Wednesday, September 7 and playing through Sunday, October 2 at the Westside Theatre (407 West 43 Street).
They join previously announced cast members Zuzanna Szadkowski (“Gossip Girl”) and Ashley Austin Morris (“The Electric Company”). Van Patten replaces Love, Loss alumnae Anne Meara, who, due to scheduling conflicts, can no longer return to the show next month.
Written by Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron, Love, Loss, and What I Wore, opened in October 2009 at the Westside Theatre (407 W 43rd Street), where it’s broken all box office records and is about to celebrate its two year anniversary. Based on the best-selling book by Ilene Beckerman as well as on the recollections of the Ephrons’ friends, and directed by Karen Carpenter, this collection of stories dares to ask “Can’t we all just stop pretending anything is ever going to be the new black?” Love, Loss, And What I Wore opens the closet on this and other sartorial queries by using clothes as a metaphor for matters far deeper than the average walk-in closet.
The production, which was honored with a 2010 Drama Desk Award and a Broadway.com Audience Award, is performed by a rotating cast of five all-star actors, who perform in five-week cycles. Members of the rotating cast have included Samantha Bee, Alexis Bledel, Kristin Chenoweth, Tyne Daly, Fran Drescher, Janeane Garofalo, Melissa Joan Hart, Carol Kane, Minka Kelly, Stacy London, Jane Lynch, Natasha Lyonne, AnnaLynne McCord, Anne Meara, Rosie O’Donnell, Rhea Perlman, Caroline Rhea, Doris Roberts, Tracee Ellis Ross, Sherri Shepherd, Brooke Shields, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Cobie Smulders, Rita Wilson and many more.
The current cast of Love, Loss, and What I Wore (through Sunday, September 4) includes Marylouise Burke, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Ann Harada, Roslyn Ruff and Yeardley Smith. Future cast members include La La Anthony, Maddie Corman and more.
In addition to its New York production, Love, Loss, and What I Wore has played in Los Angeles, Toronto, Sydney and more and will kick-off its first national tour at Chicago’s Broadway Playhouse theatre on September 14, 2011.
The performance schedule for Love, Loss, and What I Wore is as follows: Tuesday at 7 p.m., Wednesday and Saturday at 2 p.m. & 8 p.m., Thursday and Friday at 8 p.m., Sunday at 3 p.m. Tickets ($79.00) are available via Telecharge.com (212-239-6200) and in-person at the Westside Theatre Box Office (407 West 43rd Street).
