New York, NY (12/6/2010) – Producer Daryl Roth announced today that Teen Choice Award-winner Alexis Bledel (“Gilmore Girls”), Tony Award nominees Brenda Braxton (Chicago), Orfeh (Legally Blonde) and Daphne Rubin-Vega (RENT), along with Barbara Rhoades (The Goodbye Girl) and Annie Stark (Paradise Road) will join upcoming casts of the hit Off Broadway show Love, Loss, and What I Wore.

Braxton completes the December cast of Love, Loss, and What I Wore, joining the previously announced Didi Conn (Grease), Kate Flannery (“The Office”), Loretta Swit (“MASH”) and Mary Testa (Xanadu), performing December 8, 2010 – January 9, 2011.

Bledel joins Pauletta Washington (“The Parkers”), Anita Gillette (“30 Rock”) and returning cast member Judy Gold (25 Questions for a Jewish Mother) in the January cast (January 12 – February 13), with an additional cast member to be announced.

Orfeh and Rhoades will join Sabrina Le Beauf in the February cast (February 16 – March 19) and Rubin-Vega and Stark both join the March cast, performing March 23 – April 24, 2011. Additional winter and spring casting is forthcoming.

Loss, and What I Wore, written by Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron, opened in October 2009 and is now in its second smash year at the Westside Theatre (407 W 43rd Street), where it’s broken all box office records. Directed by Karen Carpenter, this collection of stories is based on the best-selling book by Ilene Beckerman, as well as on the recollections of the Ephrons’ friends. Like the popular book, Love, Loss, and What I Wore uses clothing and accessories and the memories they trigger to tell funny and often poignant stories that all women can relate to.

The production, which was honored with a 2010 Drama Desk Award and a Broadway.com Audience Award, is performed by a rotating cast of five all-star actors, who perform in five-week cycles. Members of the rotating cast have included Samantha Bee, Kristin Chenoweth, Tyne Daly, Fran Drescher, Janeane Garofalo, Melissa Joan Hart, Carol Kane, Stacy London, Jane Lynch, Natasha Lyonne, Rosie O’Donnell, Rhea Perlman, Caroline Rhea, Doris Roberts, Tracee Ellis Ross, Sherri Shepherd, Brooke Shields, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Cobie Smulders, Rita Wilson and many more.

The updated performance schedule for Love, Loss, and What I Wore is as follows: Tuesday at 7 p.m., Wednesday and Saturday at 2 p.m. & 8 p.m., Thursday and Friday at 8 p.m., Sunday at 3 p.m. & 7 p.m. (with no performances 12/7, 12/24, 12/25, 1/1, 1/11 and an added performance Monday, 1/3 at 8 p.m.). Bios
Alexis Bledel is a versatile actress best known for her role as Rory Gilmore in the critically acclaimed TV series “Gilmore Girls,” for which she won two Teen Choice Awards and several other accolades. Films include: Disney’s Tuck Everlasting, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (and its sequel), Sin City, Post Grad, Bride and Prejudice, The Orphan King, I’m Reed Fish, The Good Guy, The Kate Logan Affair. She stars opposite James McAvoy in the upcoming film The Conspirator, directed by Robert Redford.

Brenda Braxton was featured on Broadway in Smokey Joe’s Café for which she was nominated for a Tony Award, the recipient of the NAACP Theater Award, Chicago’s Jefferson Award and Grammy for Best Cast Album. She has performed in the role of Velma Kelly in both Broadway and national touring productions of the hit musical Chicago. Brenda is also the owner of BBRAXTON; Exceptional Grooming for Exceptional Men, a men’s grooming salon in Harlem, NY.

Barbara Rhoades. In a career that spans from Funny Girl on Broadway to Love, Loss and What I Wore just a few blocks west of Times Square, Barbara has delivered memorable performances in films (Harry and Tonto, The Goodbye Girl), television series (“Soap,” “Busting Loose” and more than 100 guest appearances) and Regional Theater (Gypsy, Enter Laughing). Her work with the Actor’s Studio and the Theater Artist Workshop has earned her the respect of her peers and the appreciation of audiences across the country.

Annie Starke is a recent graduate of Hamilton College, where she majored in Art History.
