Amber Ardolino
Amber Ardolino, A Beautiful Noise‘s Marcia Murphy, joins us On The Couch this week. Amidst the sad notice which came from the show this week, spirits are still running high at the Broadhurst. It’s surely impossible to sing the Niel Diamond catalogue and feel anything but grateful? Amber has stepped into one of the hardest roles on Broadway with a hugely demanding show. But this isn’t her first rodeo: pre-ABN, she was the original Linda McFly in Broadway’s Back to the Future. She also spent time in Broadway’s Funny Girl, Moulin Rouge, Hamilton and Head Over Heels. An impressive resume! We’re so glad she took a moment to tell us some more about herself – including her most embarrassing quick-change experience.
What do you consider to be your best asset?
My ability to make people feel seen or valued.
What was your proudest moment?
Watching my little sister win her swim meet at The Special Olympics.
What is your favorite drink?
Spicy Margarita, always.
What is your favorite food?
Boneless buffalo wings from Applebees…. sue me.
What is your favorite condiment?
Mayonnaise and Hot Sauce mixed on a breakfast sandwich is elite.
What is your current obsession?
Love on the Spectrum.
If you could give up one of your vices, what would it be?
Stop lining my stomach with flaming hot cheetos…
What is the one professional accomplishment you long for most?
To originate a role on Broadway.
What is the one thing you waste too much money on?
Dog bones and treats for my puppies. There is always at least 6 or 7 bones lying around my apartment.
What is the one activity you waste too much time doing?
Scrolling on TikTok…
What do you consider to be the single greatest threat to your health?
Less Mcdonalds, more salads.
What’s the single best trait you inherited or learned from your parents?
To have patience and empathy in meeting people where they are at..
What’s the single worst trait you inherited or learned from your parents?
My mother is a scorpio and my dad is a Leo. Where do I begin…
What in the world most thrills you?
Meeting strangers while traveling thrills me to the core.
What current trend in popular culture most irritates you?
Cancel culture.
What was the most embarrassing moment you’ve ever experienced on the job?
I’ve had a few… but forgetting my underwear during a quick change in Back to the Future was a sight to see.
What is your favorite place in the world?
I was the most peaceful in Venice, Italy.
What is the most important trait you seek in a romantic partner?
Comedy. We’ve gotta laugh…
Do you prefer the company of dogs or cats?
I prefer my Australian Shepherds to most humans.
What would have to happen to make today the best day of your life?
A million dollars in my bank account…
