Andrea Marcovicci, also known as the “Queen of Cabaret,” is a cabaret institution holding the record for her 25 years and 16 week run at the Algonquin Hotel’s Oak Room. She has appeared in countless movies and T.V. shows, as well as on Broadway. Andrea is currently debuting her act “SMILE” on the east coast after its critically acclaimed run in San Francisco, Chicago, and LA. Her debut engagement at the legendary Café Carlyle begins October 2nd and runs until October 27th. Find out what Andrea enjoys reading as we get her On The Couch!

My smile.

Personally, the day that my daughter was born; Professionally, Carnegie Hall 1993 my solo concert.

Diet coke.

The women in George Gershwin’s life.

Q: If you could give up one of your vices, what would it be?
Diet Coke… I quit two weeks ago!

To be back on Broadway in a straight play.

Tabloids.

Reading tabloids!

Stress.

Curiosity.

Perfectionism.

Traveling to a city that I’ve never seen before.

Misogyny.

Q: What was the single most embarrassing moment you've ever experienced on the job?
A “wardrobe malfunction” when on I was stage. My strap broke and had to be pinned while my musical director and I improvised

Easy, Hawaii.

Q: What is the most important trait you seek in a romantic partner?
A sense of humor and romantic gestures, such as flowers, for no reason.

Q: Do you prefer the company of dogs or cats?
Dogs. I have a Cairn named MacDuff.

Q: What would have to happen to make today the best day of your life?
If everyone that I loved, were peaceful and content at the same time.

To thine own self be true.
