FUNDRAISER FOR ANIMAL HAVEN; DOGS FOR ADOPTION
THURSDAY, JUNE 11
New York (June 10, 2015) – BarkPost is partnering with fashion designer Rachel Antonoff to host Puppy Prom to raise funds for Animal Haven, a New York City-based animal shelter, and find homes for a slew of adorable pups. Puppy Prom will take place on Thursday, June 11, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at 26 Bridge Street in Brooklyn. “When I found my dog Lafitte via Social Tees, he was 24 hours away from being put down and could barely use his hind legs,” said Ms. Antonoff. “Now, a happy, bouncy puppy, he has taught me so much about both perseverance and table manners. I feel overwhelmed thinking of all the others like him, the ones that still need to be rescued. How do we save them all? What can we do? And the answer is, we do it together, one dog at a time.”
Tiffany Lacey, Executive Director of Animal Haven enthused, “Animal Haven is honored to be the beneficiary of this fun event. Our dogs can’t wait to go to the prom!”
Animal Haven is a nonprofit organization that finds homes for abandoned cats and dogs throughout the Tri-State area, and provides behavior intervention when needed to improve chances of adoption. Founded in 1967, we operate an animal shelter in Manhattan. We also provide programs that enhance the bond between animals and people.
Bark & Co. is, literally, for the dogs. Our goal? To make dogs happy. If this requires giving belly scratches until we get carpal tunnel or listening to squeaky toys until our ears bleed, that’s cool. We want to find people who love their dogs as much as we love ours and delight and surprise them each month. More importantly– we want to rescue as many dogs as possible along the way. BarkPost is Bark & Co’s media arm, providing a dog’s eye view of the news on a daily basis.
