“I T ’ S O N L Y A P L A Y”
JUNE 7, 2015
New York, NY (January 30, 2015) – Producers Tom Kirdahy, Roy Furman, and Ken Davenport announced today that the smash hit Broadway comedy It’s Only a Play, which opened on Broadway on October 9, 2014, has extended its run through Sunday, June 7, 2015. Originally announced as a limited engagement through January 4th, It's Only a Play was recently extended through March 29th at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 West 45th Street), where it will now play through June 7th. Tickets are now on sale for all performances. For more information on It’s Only A Play, please visit www.ItsOnlyAPlay.com.
Terrence McNally’s It’s Only A Play recently welcomed Tony® and Emmy® winner Martin Short, 2-time Tony® winner Katie Finneran, and “30 Rock” alum Maulik Pancholy, who join original cast members F. Murray Abraham, Matthew Broderick, Stockard Channing and Micah Stock. 3-time Tony® Award winner Jack O’Brien directs.
In It's Only A Play, it’s opening night of Peter Austin's (Matthew Broderick) new play as he anxiously awaits to see if his show is a hit. With his career on the line, he shares his big First Night with his best friend, a television star (Martin Short), his fledgling producer (Katie Finneran), his erratic leading lady (Stockard Channing), his wunderkind director (Maulik Pancholy), an infamous drama critic (F. Murray Abraham), and a fresh-off-the-bus coat check attendant (Micah Stock) on his first night in Manhattan. It’s alternately raucous, ridiculous and tender — and proves that sometimes the biggest laughs happen offstage.
The design team for It’s Only A Play includes scenic design by Tony® winner Scott Pask, costume design by Academy Award® and Tony® winner Ann Roth, lighting design by Philip Rosenberg, and sound design by Fitz Patton.
Tickets are available by visiting the Jacobs Theatre box office Monday – Saturday, 10am – 8:30pm; Sunday, 12 – 6pm; or online at Telecharge.com. For groups of 12 or more, call 855-329-2932.
