Chilina Kennedy
Chilina Kennedy has been feeling the earth move as only a natural woman can. As the longest Carole King in the long and successful run of Beautiful — The Carole King Musical, she brings down the house night-after-night with surprising depth, authenticity and a style all her own. The Canadian-born Chilina made her Broadway debut as Mary Magdalene in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s seminal Jesus Christ Superstar. She went on to Evita, West Side Story, and Kiss Me, Kate. Quickly, audiences became keenly aware that this actor from the North was someone to keep a close eye on! We are thrilled to have the talented Ms. Kennedy On the Couch!
What do you consider to be your best asset?
My patience. Usually 😉 Otherwise, my bravery.

When my son was born.

Gin & tonic. Or hot toddy.
What is your favorite food?
Depends. Lately it’s Nutella pancakes or waffles.

Hot sauce. Cholula is a good one.
What is your current obsession?
My new robin’s egg blue couch. And waffles.
If you could give up one of your vices, what would it be?
My anxiety.
What is the one professional accomplishment you long for most?
To be a better pianist. And to conquer my nerves.
What is the one thing you waste too much money on?
Eating out!!!
What is the one activity you waste too much time doing?
I don’t really believe in wasted time if you love it or learn from it. Sooo…I would say, clearing out junk mail/emails.
What do you consider to be the single greatest threat to your health?
Stress. And the current administration.
What is the single best trait you inherited or learned from your parents?
Loyalty.
What is the single worst trait you inherited or learned from your parents?
Over achievement.
What in the world most thrills you?
Relationships. And roller coasters.
What current trend in popular culture most irritates you?
Device addiction.
What was the single most embarrassing moment you’ve ever experienced on the job?
I can’t tell you 😉 The second worst was doing a slow fall as a stripper in Gypsy after catching the heel of my shoe in my bustle. I was unable to recover.
What is your favorite place in the world?
Beside my kid.
What is the most important trait you seek in a romantic partner?
Flexibility.
Do you prefer the company of dogs or cats?
Dogs. But only bc I’m allergic to cats.
What would have to happen to make today the best day of your life?
It already is. I love my job, I’m healthy and I have wonderful friends and family around me.
