New York, NY (March 26, 2012) –Producer Jordan Roth announced today that a limited number of general rush tickets will be available for all performances of Bruce Norris’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Clybourne Park at the Walter Kerr, beginning previews tonight for a limited 16-week engagement (Opening Night is set for April 19). Rush tickets will be available on the day of the performance, at the Box Office beginning at 10:00 a.m. for $30. Limit 2 per customer.
In a statement, Roth said, “We hope to give as many people as possible the opportunity to share this astonishing theatrical experience.”
Winner of the 2011 Pulitzer Prize and London’s Olivier award for Best Play, Clybourne Park is the wickedly funny and fiercely provocative new play about race, real estate and the volatile values of each. Clybourne Park explodes in two outrageous acts set 50 years apart. Act One takes place in 1959, as nervous community leaders anxiously try to stop the sale of a home to a black family. Act Two is set in the same house in the present day, as the now predominantly African-American neighborhood battles to hold its ground in the face of gentrification.
Under the direction of Pam MacKinnon, the cast of Clybourne Park, includes Crystal A. Dickinson, Brendan Griffin, Damon Gupton, Christina Kirk, Annie Parisse, Jeremy Shamos and Frank Wood.
