New York, NY (May 28, 2020) – Concord Theatricals is thrilled to announce that it has secured exclusive worldwide licensing rights to Adam Rapp’s The Sound Inside for its Samuel French imprint. The Sound Inside enjoyed an acclaimed run at Broadway’s Studio 54 during the 2019-20 season. Starring Tony®, Golden Globe®, and Emmy Award® winner Mary-Louise Parker, it marked the Broadway debut of Pulitzer Prize finalist Adam Rapp, and was directed by Tony Award winner David Cromer, with Will Hochman as “Christopher.” In addition to rapturous reviews and a New York Times Critic’s Pick, The Sound Inside landed on “Best of the Year” lists from Time Magazine, Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times, New York Daily News, and The Hollywood Reporter, to the New York Times.

Adam Rapp is the author of numerous plays, which include Nocturne (American Repertory Theatre, New York Theatre Workshop), Finer Noble Gases (26th Humana Festival), Stone Cold Dead Serious (A.R.T.), Blackbird (The Bush, London), Essential Self-Defense (Playwrights Horizons/Edge Theatre), Kindness (Playwrights Horizons), The Metal Children (The Vineyard), The Hallway Trilogy (Rattlestick), The Edge of Our Bodies (36th Humana Festival), Dreams of Flying Dreams of Falling (Atlantic Theater Company), Through the Yellow Hour (Rattlestick), Wolf in the River (The Flea), The Purple Lights of Joppa Illinois (Atlantic Theater Company), and Red Light Winter (Steppenwolf, Barrow Street Theatre), for which he won Chicago’s Jeff Award for Best New Work, an OBIE, and was named a finalist for the 2006 Pulitzer Prize.
