Damian Bazadona
Damien Bazadona is a Renaissance man of the modern world. As the founder and president of Situation Interactive, Damian has built one of the premiere digital agencies in New York City with clients ranging from Broadway, to television and educational institutions. Before this, he served as a partner and chief marketing officer of Cyber-NY Interactive. Damian also served as a contributor to major publications like the New York Times, Associated Press and the Wall Street Journal. Next Monday Damian and Situation join CEO of Goldstar, Jim McCarthy, in presenting the annual TEDxBroadway Conference. The conference will take place this Monday, February 23rd at New World Stages.
What do you consider to be your best asset?
I believe anything is possible.
What was your proudest moment?
When our agency was selected to Crain's “Best Place to Work in NYC” annual list. I take pride in trying to create a good work culture, so it was a big honor to be recognized for it.
What is your favorite drink?
Iced Coffee if I'm in the office. Iced Skim Latte if I need to think. Hot coffee from a street coffee cart if I'm walking somewhere. I love coffee.
What is your favorite food?
Ice cream (mint chocolate chip). Who doesn't?
What is your favorite condiment?
Chipotle Mayonnaise.
What is your current obsession?
Connecting kids with the arts. The arts needs a place in our education system and I think as someone who works in the industry, I have the ability to make an impact here so I'm giving it my all.
If you could give up one of your vices, what would it be?
Eating after 9pm. Why does food have to taste so much better when it's dark outside?
What is the one professional accomplishment you long for most?
When I'm on my death bed, to say I have no regrets.
What is the one thing you waste too much money on?
Coffee.
What is the one activity you waste too much time doing?
Sorting emails I will likely never refer back to again.
What do you consider to be the single greatest threat to your health?
I prefer not to know.
What is the single best trait you inherited or learned from your parents?
Anything is possible.
What is the single worst trait you inherited or learned from your parents?
My organization skills.
What in the world most thrills you?
Watching the underdog kick expectations in the groin.
What current trend in popular culture most irritates you?
Selfie sticks.
What was the single most embarrassing moment you've ever experienced on the job?
Flipping over the back of my chair during a large ad meeting with a coffee in hand.
What is your favorite place in the world?
Anywhere my family is.
What is the most important trait you seek in a romantic partner?
A brain.
Do you prefer the company of dogs or cats?
I love both. Dogs make me feel special. Cats make me feel human.
What would have to happen to make today the best day of your life?
Waking up.
