“SWING THIS”
MARCH 19-30

New York, NY (3/13/13) – The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel is pleased to welcome the Grammy Award-winning vocalist Debby Boone for her debut at the Café Carlyle with her new program “Swing This”. Ms. Boone opens at the Café Carlyle on March 19th and will play through March 30th, where she will be joined by her music director, John Oddo, and a nine piece band for what she has described as, “The party I've been waiting my whole life to throw!”

Swing This” will feature songs from Ms. Boone’s upcoming album of the same name, and is her take on Las Vegas in the 60's with stories and memories to share from the years her father, Pat Boone, was headlining at the Sands and Sahara hotels. “Swing This” is a true reflection of the music, glamour and pure exhilaration of that golden age in Vegas that inspired her to be a performer in the first place.

The Café Carlyle is one of the most iconic performance venues in the world. Since opening in 1955, the storied room, located in the legendary Carlyle Hotel, has provided a singularly intimate New York cabaret experience featuring musical performances by such legendary entertainers as Barbara Cook, Woody Allen, Elaine Stritch, Judy Collins and the incomparable Bobby Short. This New York landmark also maintains the famous wrap around Vertès murals.

Café Carlyle is located in The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel (35 East 76th Street @ Madison Avenue). Debby Boone will play Tuesdays through Saturdays at 8:45pm from March 19th to March 30th. There is a $65 music charge ($45 bar seating) Tuesday through Thursday and a $75 music charge ($50 bar seating) for shows on Friday and Saturday. BIO_______________________________________________________________
Debby Boone earned instant fame when You Light Up My Life became an overnight hit.  The single claimed the #1 spot on the Billboard charts for ten straight weeks and sold in excess of four million copies.  Debby received the Grammy Award for Best New Artist of the Year and won two additional Grammy Awards and has received seven Grammy nominations.  You Light Up My Life ranked #7 in the September 20, 2008 Billboard Magazine’s 50th Anniversary Special Issue The Hot 100’s All-Time Top-Charting Songs of the last 5 decades.

Debby Boone’s last CD release for Concord Records, Reflections of Rosemary, is an intimate musical portrait of her late mother-in-law, the legendary singer Rosemary Clooney, for whom Debby had great love and respect.  The CD is a collection of 14 standards chosen for their significance in Boone's life with Clooney. Debby has toured Reflections of Rosemary along with John Oddo at Performing Arts Centers and Symphony Halls throughout the USA.

Her appearance with the Boston Pops at Symphony Hall in Boston, Massachusetts was a real highlight for Debby and her beauty and talent delighted audiences. Robert Kaufman, Principal Pops Conductor of Pacific Symphony confirms, “Debby was a shining light on our Pops season, in the tradition of great singers who bring a song to life just the way the composer intended. Her voice is superb and her stage presence endearing.”

In addition to her recording career, Debby’s starring roles on Broadway include Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, the role of Maria in Lincoln Center’s 30th Anniversary production of The Sound of Music and as Rizzo of Grease. Debby toured nationally in Meet Me In St. Louis, and performed the role of Anna in the 50th Anniversary staging of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The King and I at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Center in California.

Recent stage performances of Debby’s include participating in New York’s third annual 24 Hour Musicals. Additionally, for the fourth year, Debby will be performing in this year’s Lyrics and Lyricist event at the 92nd St. Y.  Debby particularly enjoys performing her Christmas Memories show each year during the holiday season, which includes music and memories from the Christmas concert tours she used to do with Rosemary Clooney.
