E. Clayton Cornelious
A Broadway veteran with eight Broadway credits to his name (including Season Weekly favorites like Beautiful, A Chorus Line and The Lion King) E. Clay Cornelious has made a name for himself both on and off the stage with his crooner voice and his savvy business sense while producing. He can currently be found playing a plethora of roles in the blockbuster hit, Ain’t Too Proud, including “Richard Street.” From his affinity for meaty pizza toppings to his aversion to social media, get ready to learn more about our friend, E. What do you consider to be your best asset?
Multi-tasking is my best asset!
What was your proudest moment?
Having my father see me play the lead role in Wonderland on Broadway before he died.
What is your favorite drink?
A coconut/aloe drink made by Aloe Garden. You can only get it at the deli on the corner of 43/8th.
What is your favorite food?
I can eat pizza all day (bacon & pepperoni).
What is your favorite condiment?
BBQ sauce or ranch dressing.
What is your current obsession?
A game on my phone called DIG IT! (obsessed!!!!)
If you could give up one of your vices, what would it be?
Gambling….I don’t think I have many vices but I do love a casino!
What is the one professional accomplishment you long for most?
To NOT be famous but to make my mark in NYC and work all my talents: Acting/Producing/Investing.
What is the one thing you waste too much money on?
I think eating out! I love cooking at home but I spend way too much money at restaurants.
What is the one activity you waste too much time doing?
On the game App: DIG IT! And binging Netflix series.
What do you consider to be the single greatest threat to your health?
Being too busy and wearing myself down.
What is the single best trait you inherited or learned from your parents?
Work ethic, staying on top with finances, and remembering to treat others how you would like to be treated.
What is the single worst trait you inherited or learned from your parents?
Sometimes I procrastinate! It’s an ongoing struggle.
What in the world most thrills you?
Vacations or seeing how others live outside of NYC.
What current trend in popular culture most irritates you?
Social media. I grew up before social media platforms but it’s a thriving business and I’m still learning.
What was the single most embarrassing moment you’ve ever experienced on the job?
I was wheeled out of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical and put into an ambulance from an allergic reaction to medicine. A bit of an event and embarrassing.
What is your favorite place in the world?
Aruba!
What is the most important trait you seek in a romantic partner?
Loyalty.
Do you prefer the company of dogs or cats?
Neither.
What would have to happen to make today the best day of your life?
Hit the Lottery for 3 million dollars!
