New York, NY (August 2, 2012) – The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director), in association with Robert D. Wachs (producer of the hit films Beverly Hills Cop, Beverly Hills Cop 2, Coming to America), has announced the addition of Emmy-Award nominee Rob Morrow (“Northern Exposure,” “Number3s”) to the cast of the lab workshop of the new disco musical, Last Dance featuring the music of legendary pop master Paul Jabara (Enough is Enough, It’s Raining Men, Last Dance, and more) with book by Shaun McKenna (Lord of the Rings, The Musical).   Under the direction of Philip Wm. McKinley (SPIDERMAN Turn Off the Dark, The Boy from Oz), and with choreography by Carol Schuberg (Meet Me in St. Louis) and musical direction by Wendy Cavett (Mamma Mia!),  Last Dance will play 5 performances only, September 20 – 23, 2012 at at The York Theatre at Saint Peter’s (Citicorp Building, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).

Rob Morrow, a founding member of the theatrical troupe, Naked Angels, is best known for his work on the television series “Northern Exposure” for which he garnered three Golden Globes and two Emmy Award nominations for “Best Actor in a Dramatic Series.”   His extensive television credits include “Numb3rs,” “The Whole Truth,” “Entourage,” “CSI: NY,” and “The Day Lincoln Was Shot,” to name a few.  Film credits include the soon to be released, Can A Song Save Your Life, The Good Doctor, The Bucket List, and the Oscar-nominated film Quiz Show, among many others.  He most recently appeared onstage in The Exonerated, Third Street and London's West End production of Birdy.  As a director his credits include episodes of “Necessary Roughness,” “Numb3rs”, Showtime's “Street Time”, “Joan of Arcadia,” “Maze” and HBO’s “Oz”.

Those who missed the days of Studio 54, didn’t miss their Last Dance!  This exciting new show is a tale from the 70s when enough was never enough. A joyful celebration of disco dreams, glitter balls and dangerous delights. It’s a story about a time, not so long ago, when a man wrote songs for the woman he thought he’d never lose. “Disco Forever!”  

Last Dance will play the following performance schedule: Thursday, September 20 at 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 21 at 8:00 p.m., Saturday, September 22 at 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. and September 23 at 3:00 p.m.

Rob Morrow (Stand up/Paul/CD) is a critically acclaimed actor, writer, and director with an established career in television, film, and theater, spanning over three decades. His breakout role was as Dr. Joel Fleischman in the award-winning television show “Northern Exposure,” a role which garnered him three Golden Globes and two Emmy Award nominations for “Best Actor in a Dramatic Series.”  Most recently, Morrow completed an arc on “CSI: NY,” playing deranged arsonist, Leonard Wells. From 2005 to 2010, he starred as Don Eppes in the long running CBS hit, “Numb3rs,” and as Jimmy Brogan in Jerry Bruckheimer's legal drama series, “The Whole Truth” on ABC and recently appeared on HBO's, “Entourage.” Other television credits include starring as John Wilkes Booth in the TNT movie “The Day Lincoln Was Shot,” Lifetime's “Custody,” The CBS Hallmark Entertainment mini-series “Only Love,” opposite Marisa Tomei, Showtime's, “The Thin Blue Lie,” opposite Randy Quaid and Paul Sorvino, and the CBS movie, “Jenifer,” opposite Laura San Giacomo and Annabella Sciorra.   On the big screen, some recent credits include, John Carney's soon to be released, Can A Song Save Your Life (2013), The Good Doctor (2011), opposite Orlando Bloom, and Rob Reiner's The Bucket List (2007).  Other film credits include Michael Hoffman's critically acclaimed film, The Emperor's Club (2002) opposite Kevin Kline; Robert Redford's Oscar-nominated film Quiz Show (1994) opposite Ralph Fiennes and John Turturro; Daisy von Scherler Mayer's The Guru (2002); Albert Brooks' comedy Mother (1996); Bruce Beresford's Last Dance (1996) opposite Sharon Stone;  and Into My Heart (1998) opposite Claire Forlani.  Rob recently directed an episode of “Necessary Roughness” for USA. Other directing credits include multiple episodes of “Numb3rs”, Showtime's “Street Time”, CBS' ,” “Maze” and HBO’s “Oz.”  He also directed Maze (2000), an independent feature, which he wrote, produced and co-starred with Laura Linney in November 2001.  A native New Yorker, Morrow began his theater career working for Tom O'Horgan and Norman Mailer.   Morrow recently starred in The Exonerated, a drama based on the true tales of six innocent death-row inmates, opposite Penn Jillette and Mia Farrow and appeared in Third Street at the Circle Repertory Theatre and London's West End production of Birdy. He has also been committed to the theater as a founding member of the nonprofit ensemble Naked Angels, along with Marisa Tomei, Fisher Stevens, Ron Rifkin and Nancy Travis, among others, and  is a long time board member of Project ALS, a cause near to his heart, started by his friend Jenifer Estess. He is also an active leading member of the Creative Coalition, a premiere nonprofit social and political advocacy organization that helps to educate and mobilize leaders in the arts community on issues of public importance.
