HITS #1 ON THE BILLBOARD CAST ALBUM CHART
New York, NY (June 3, 2015) – Fun Home, the Award-winning new musical that began previews on Broadway on March 27, announced today that the updated and expanded Broadway version of the cast recording has reached #1 on the Billboard Cast Album Chart. The album, produced by PS Classics, now features Emily Skeggs, who took over the role of Medium Alison during the show’s original Off-Broadway run and is re-creating the role on Broadway, and includes new material written for the Broadway production, as well as additional material not included on the original recording. With music by five-time Tony® Award nominee Jeanine Tesori, a book and lyrics by three-time Tony® Award nominee Lisa Kron and direction by Tony® Award nominee Sam Gold, Fun Home began previews March 27, 2015 and opened to rave reviews at the Circle in the Square Theatre (235 West 50th Street) on Sunday, April 19, 2015.
The cast of Fun Home includes current 2015 Tony® Award nominees Michael Cerveris, Judy Kuhn, Beth Malone, Sydney Lucas and Emily Skeggs, along with Roberta Colindrez, Zell Steele Morrow, Joel Perez, Oscar Williams, Lauren Patten, Gabriella Pizzolo, Marrick Smith, Jim Stanek, and Nicole Van Giesen.
Fun Home introduces us to Alison at three different ages, revealing memories of her uniquely dysfunctional family – her mother, brothers and volatile, brilliant, enigmatic father – that connect with her in surprising new ways. This intimate and emotional theatrical experience is performed entirely in the round, bringing audiences closer to Alison’s story than ever before. A finalist for the Pulitzer Prize, Fun Home is a refreshingly honest, wholly original musical about seeing your parents through grown-up eyes.
Fun Home is nominated for twelve 2015 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical (Michael Cerveris), Best Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical (Beth Malone), Best Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical (Judy Kuhn), Best Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical (Sydney Lucas), Best Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical (Emily Skeggs), Best Direction of a Musical (Sam Gold), Best Book of a Musical (Lisa Kron), Best Score (Jeanine Tesori and Lisa Kron), Best Scenic Design of a Musical (David Zinn), Best Lighting Design of a Musical (Ben Stanton), and Best Orchestrations (John Clancy).
The coast-to-coast North American Tour of Fun Home will begin in the 2016 – 2017 Season. For the fourth time, Tony Award nominated director Sam Gold will completely restage this production for proscenium theaters, as was done in its sold-out run at the Public Theater’s Newman and Shiva Theaters.

Fun Home plays the following schedule until April 27th: Tuesday – Saturday at 8:00 PM, Wednesday and Saturday at 2:00 PM, and Sunday at 3:00 PM. After April 27th, the schedule is as follows: Tuesday at 7:00 PM, Wednesday – Saturday at 8:00 PM, Wednesday and Saturday at 2:00 PM, and Sunday at 3:00 PM.
