New York, NY (08/23/11) –New York’s Public Theater (Oskar Eustis, Artistic Director) and Joey Parnes have announced that the final performances of HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical on Broadway will all offer special deals and programs for students, Aquarians, foreigners, HAIR fans and more, kicking off on Thursday, August 25th with a foursquare Swarm-In in Times Square, at which fans are encouraged to join the Tribe for a Be-In Performance in Times Square, where they can unlock a special discount if enough people check in via the social networking site foursquare. The show ends its “Summer of Love” run at the St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street) on Saturday, September 10th before heading back out on its national tour.

The full schedule of “Great HAIR Days” is as follows:

Thursday, August 25th – Foursquare Swarm-In
The Tribe will appear in Times Square for a Be-In Performance at 4:30pm. HAIR fans are encouraged to join the cast and check in on foursquare. If enough fans check into the special “HAIR Summer of Love Swarm-In” event on foursquare they will unlock a special discount for a $20 select mezzanine or balcony ticket to that evening’s performance of HAIR. After the Be-In Performance, the cast will lead the fans back to the theatre so they can line up and redeem their special discount; limit 2 per order.

Friday, August 26th – Aquarian Day
Special discount at the box office for a $50 ticket to that evening’s performance for any HAIR fan born under the sign of Aquarius (born January 20 – February 19); must show valid ID, limit 2 per order. Discount valid for select rear orchestra and mezzanine tickets.

Saturday, August 27th – Foreign Tourist Day
Special discount at the box office for a $50 ticket to that evening’s performance for any HAIR fan showing a foreign passport; must show valid ID, limit 2 per order. Discount valid for select rear orchestra and mezzanine tickets.

Monday, August 29th – “Honeymoon in the 7th House”
In the spirit of the weddings at the St. James last month, HAIR fans married after June 21st 2011 will be offered a special discount at the box office for a $50 ticket to that evening’s performance; must present a copy of your marriage license, limit 2 per order. . Discount valid for select rear orchestra and mezzanine tickets.

Tuesday, August 30th – Tweet-In
Come to The Tweet-In! All HAIR fans are welcome to attend this Tweet-In, where there will be a Tweet-Up before the show, at intermission to tweet about Act One, and a special stage door tweet-in after the show with the cast.

Wednesday, August 31st – Facebook Dance Party Day
All audience members are encouraged to take pictures with their cameras and phones during the dance party after the curtain call, upload them to Facebook and share them on the Official HAIR Broadway Facebook page.

Thursday, September 1st– Columbia Night
Columbia Students are welcome to this special Columbia Night during their Orientation where your Columbia Student ID will allow you to purchase up to 4 Student Rush Seats to that evening’s performance for $20 each; must show valid ID. Discount valid for select mezzanine or balcony tickets.

Friday, September 2nd – Fordham Night
Fordham Students are welcome to celebrate their First Friday Night of the year where your Fordham Student ID will allow you to purchase up to 4 Student Rush Seats to that evening’s performance for $20 each; must show valid ID. Discount valid for select mezzanine or balcony tickets.

Saturday, September 3rd – NYU Day
NYU Students are welcome during their move-in weekend to bring their friends and family to HAIR! Bring your NYU Student ID to the box office to purchase up to 4 Student Rush Seats to that evening’s performance for $20 each; must show valid ID. Monday, September 5th – Labor Day
In honor of Labor Day, a special discount at the box office for a $50 ticket to that evening’s performance for any HAIR Fan showing a union membership card or service ID; must show valid ID, limit 2 per order. Discount valid for select rear orchestra and mezzanine tickets.

Tuesday, September 6th – Back to School Night
New York City Public & Private School Students are welcome to celebrate their last free evening before school starts. Bring your Student ID to the box office to purchase up to 2 Student Rush Seats to that evening’s performance for $20 each; must show valid ID, limit 2 per order. Discount valid for select mezzanine or balcony tickets.

Wednesday, September 7th – Broadway Impact Day
In celebration of the partnership between Broadway Impact and the cast of HAIR, there will be special collections after both performances this day to benefit Broadway Impact

Thursday, September 8th – Public Theater Night
Special discount offer for a $50 ticket to the September 8th performance will be emailed to Public Theater Members. Discount valid for select rear orchestra and mezzanine tickets.

Friday, September 9th – Alumni Night
All HAIR fans are invited to purchase tickets to this special performance where HAIR Alumni from Central Park, Broadway and the West End will be in attendance.

Saturday, September 10th – The Ultimate HAIR Fan Love-In
Calling all HAIR fans to attend these final two performances on Broadway. This is your last chance to see “The Summer Of Love” before the cast heads back out on the National Tour.

HAIR’s triumphant return to Broadway follows the launch of its successful first national tour of 20 cities in 9 months during the 2010-2011 season and features members of the Central Park tribe, Broadway Revival tribe, London Revival tribe and new tribe members. The full cast includes: Steel Burkhardt (Berger), Paris Remillard (Claude), Matt DeAngelis (Woof), Kaitlin Kiyan (Crissy), Darius Nichols (Hud), Kacie Sheik (Jeanie), Phyre Hawkins (Dionne) and Caren Lyn Tackett (Sheila). The cast also includes: Shaleah Adkisson, Emily Afton, Nicholas Belton, Larkin Bogan, Corey Bradley, Marshal Kennedy Carolan, Laura Dreyfuss, Mike Evariste, Lulu Fall, Tripp Fountain, Nkrumah Gatling, Allison Guinn, Sara King, Josh Lamon, John Moauro, Christine Nolan, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Arbender Robinson, Cailan Rose, Tanesha Ross, Jen Sese and Lee Zarrett.

Following its strictly limited summer engagement, the HAIR tour will continue across the country, making its first post-Broadway stop in Dallas, TX at the AT&T Performing Arts Center beginning September 20.

Winner of the of the 2009 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical, and the Drama Desk, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle 2009 awards for Outstanding Revival of a Musical, HAIR opened on Broadway at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre to unanimous raves March 31, 2009 and played more than 500 performances before closing on June 27, 2010.

Directed by Diane Paulus, HAIR features a book and lyrics by Gerome Ragni and James Rado and music by Galt MacDermot. The story of a group of young Americans searching for love and peace during the Vietnam era, HAIR is a timeless portrait of a movement that changed the world. Its groundbreaking rock score paved the way for some of the greatest musicals of our time.

The creative team also includes Karole Armitage (choreography), Scott Pask (scenic design), Michael McDonald (costume design), Kevin Adams (lighting design) and Acme Sound Partners (sound design).
