Every day is opening night.

“I’m Still Here!”

Ladies and Gents,

My head is spinning!  Press Agent extraordinaire Rick Miramontez  just tracked me down via the house phone here at Patrick’s Roadhouse (Ricky and I have known each other for more years than either of us would care to admit and he always seems to know where to find me). Well, he offered me this very column that you’re reading – part of the new O&M Co. website.

As many of you know, I’ve written nary a word since the Herald-Examiner went down the tubes (print media was dead for me, kids, before it died for everyone else), so imagine my thrill.  As you’ve guessed I said, ‘Yes, Ricky, of course I’ll do your column!”  Without an ounce of hesitation I’m trading the sunshine of Santa Monica for the noise of New York. I may be a tad rusty, but I feel it all coming back to me.  What a kick it will be to offer you all a seat in Row H (one mustn’t get too close to the action and risk getting spat upon) for all the glamour of The Big Apple!  What a gig!

After all these years I’m part of the “New Media.” The money sure ain’t what it used to be, but the invitations and open bars will more than make up for it.  Now I must pay my check, book a flight and pack a steamer trunk.  Then I’m winging from coast to coast to witness everything and report back to all of you.

As always, a toast of something sparkling to you and yours!

Kisses,

Scoop Verbena
