New York, NY (June 28, 2020) – To celebrate New York City pride, and to close-out pride month, Producers Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig today released an epic, multi-national, all-new music video of the stirring finale anthem, “Raise You Up” from the smash-hit, six-time Tony Award®-winning and three-time Olivier Award®-winning, global musical sensation Kinky Boots. The video features cast members from seven nations across four continents, and reunites original Broadway stars Tony, Grammy, and Emmy Award winner Billy Porter, Grammy Award winner Stark Sands, and Tony Award winner Annaleigh Ashford. Also making cameos are the musical’s Tony Award-winning book writer Harvey Fierstein, Tony and Grammy Award-winning composer/lyricist Cyndi Lauper, and Tony Award-winning director/choreographer Jerry Mitchell, including special appearances by previous cast members Wayne Brady, Jake Shears, David Cook, and Kirstin Maldonado.

The just-released video, which was produced by Tony and Grammy Award-winning Music Supervisor and Orchestrator Stephen Oremus and Musical Director Brian Usifer, raises funds for True Colors United.

Kinky Boots played its final Broadway performance on April 7, 2019. At the time of its closing, the musical ranked as the 25th longest-running production in Broadway history, having played 2,507 regular performances and 34 previews. Kinky Boots has played on stages throughout the globe, including productions in London (winner of the 2016 Olivier Award for Best Musical), Germany, Toronto, Germany, Japan, Australia, and S. Korea, as well as tours across the U.S. and the U.K. and Ireland. The Grammy Award-winning Original Broadway Cast Recording of Kinky Boots is available on Sony Masterworks Broadway.

The winner of six 2013 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Kinky Boots features a Tony Award-winning score by Cyndi Lauper, a book by Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein and direction and choreography by Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell.

Based on the Miramax film written by Geoff Deane & Tim Firth, Kinky Boots tells the uplifting and heartwarming tale of Charlie Price, a young man reluctantly taking over his family’s struggling shoe factory and looking for a fresh idea. Charlie meets and finds inspiration in Lola and together, they discover that it takes a good friend to make a great pair.
