Jennifer Laura Thompson has dedicated her life to theater, and when you bear witness to her luminous performances, you can tell. Jennifer made her Broadway debut in 1998 in the original cast of Footloose, then went on to play Hope Cladwell in the run-away hit Urinetown, for which she was nominated for a 2002 Tony Award. She has performed across the country in American musical theatre classics such as Jesus Christ Superstar and The Fantasticks. This season, she plays Cynthia in one of the best new musicals on Broadway, Dear Evan Hansen. We are thrilled to have Jennifer Laura Thompson On the Couch!

Denial.

The moment I made a person (my son).

Anything that tastes like ketchup but isn’t ketchup (allergic to tomato).

Making jewelry for Dear Evan Hansen.

Judgement.

Win a goddamn Tony 😉

What is the one thing you waste too much money on?
Shoes.

What is the one activity you waste too much time doing?
Thinking about going to the gym.

What do you consider to be the single greatest threat to your health?
Worry.

Ambition.

Belly laughing.

Kardashians and other useless people.

Lost my bikini top on stage.

Humor.

Dogs.

What would have to happen to make today the best day of your life?
If I found out I wasn’t allergic to tomato.

What is your personal motto?
Never give up. There are things just as good as ketchup and marinara sauce. Don’t forget that. Life goes on without the tomato. You will find happiness in the form of other sauces and dips.
