John Bolton

Most widely known for his television appearances on “Gossip Girl” (as Bruce Caplan) and “All My Children” (D.A. John Summerhill), John Bolton is actually a seasoned veteran of the stage. He has appeared in numerous Broadway shows from How to Succeed… (’95 Revival) to Spamalot and Curtains. John is currently lighting up the Westside Theatre as Ernie in The Last Smoker in America. Q: What do you consider to be your best asset?
I know a little about a lot of things.

Q: What was your proudest moment?
Singing with the NY Philharmonic this year was pretty cool.

Q: What is your favorite drink?
Manhattan.  Up.  Nice and cold.

Q: What is your favorite food?
Sushi. 

Q: What is your favorite condiment?
Rochester, NY-style hot sauce.

Textsfromhillary.com, early 70's rock music and kale chips.

Q: If you could give up one of your vices, what would it be?
Internet time. 

Q: What is the one professional accomplishment you long for most?
Well, since I'm too old to be on “Zoom” now, I'd love to get to do the kind of roles that people like Dylan Baker do so well.  And someday I'd like to BE Dick Latessa.

Q: What is the one thing you waste too much money on?
DVDs.  I am addicted to The Criterion Collection.

Lack of sleep

People so pre-occupied with online social “connections” that they can't seem to have actual ones

Q: What was the single most embarrassing moment you've ever experienced on the job?
Laughing uncontrollably on a Broadway stage.  Nightly.  While the Titanic is sinking.

Q: What is your favorite place in the world?
I love to travel and I've been to some wonderful places, but I always love to come home to New York.

Q: What is the most important trait you seek in a romantic partner?
Honesty.

Q: Do you prefer the company of dogs or cats?
Dogs – particularly my own:  Rozzy, a 100 lb Rottweiler/Dalmatian mix and Dallas, a 7 lb. Brussels Griffon.   Guess which one is the boss.

Q: What would have to happen to make today the best day of your life?
To get to hug my Mom again.
