Every day is opening night.

Lillias White is a Broadway legend, and if my word isn’t enough, just take a look at her mantle. Her performance as Sonja in the Broadway musical, The Life, earned Lillias the quadruple-crown – a Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, Friends of New York, and Tony Award. She received a Tony Award nomination for her performance as Funmilayo Anikulapo-Kuti in Fela! and embodied the powerhouse Effie Melody White in the 20th Anniversary concert recording of Dreamgirls. This season, Ms. White will play Osceola in the York Theater Company’s production of Texas In Paris. Her schedule is getting busier and busier, so we are honored to have Lillias White On the Couch this week!

Performing the role of Funmilayo Anikulapo Kuti in the LAGOS production of FELA!

Water.

Seafood.

Cayenne & ginger.

If you could give up one of your vices, what would it be?

Watching television!

What is the one professional accomplishment you long for most? 

There are too many to list! 1) Academy Award. 2) Grammy. 3) Professional Show Biz School.

What is the one thing you waste too much money on?

Taxis.

What is the one activity you waste too much time doing? 

Watching television.

What do you consider to be the single greatest threat to your health? 

Being sedentary.

What is the single best trait you inherited or learned from your parents?  

A sense of humor and love of people from all walks of life.

Fear.

My grandchildren!

Reality TV.
