New York, NY – MCC THEATER (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey and William Cantler, Artistic Directors; Blake West, Executive Director) is thrilled to announce an especially starry line-up of performers for its annual Miscast gala, to be held Monday, March 4, 2013 at The Hammerstein Ballroom (311 West 34th Street).  Last year’s event drew rave reviews, was hailed as “the year’s funniest revue” by The Huffington Post, and was recently included in The New York Times ‘2012’s Most Galvanizing Theater Moments’.  Miscast 2013 will honor Tony® Award winner Judith Light (Other Desert Cities) for her illustrious screen and stage career (appearing on Broadway this year for her third straight season, this time in Richard Greenberg’s upcoming The Assembled Parties), her work with MCC Theater (acclaimed performances in Colder Than Here and Wit), and her impassioned advocacy of several causes, including Arts in Education.  This year’s Miscast will be hosted by theater luminary Victor Garber, best known for his Tony®-nominated performances in Lend Me a Tenor and Damn Yankees, Broadway appearances in Art, Godspell, and Assassins, and his film and TV work in Argo, “Alias,” Titanic, and Milk, among many others, and now starring in NBC’s “Deception.”

This year’s roster of performers includes Tony® Award winners Christian Borle (Peter and the Starcatcher, NBC’s “Smash”), Jane Krakowski (Nine, NBC’s “30 Rock”), and LaChanze (The Color Purple); Tony® Award nominees Jonathan Groff (Spring Awakening, MCC’s The Submission, FOX’s “Glee”), Jeremy Jordan (Newsies, NBC’s “Smash”), Marin Mazzie (Kiss Me Kate, MCC’s Carrie), and Patrick Wilson (The Full Monty, HBO’s “Angels in America”); and Broadway stars Jason Danieley (Next to Normal, Curtains), Megan Hilty (9 to 5, Wicked, NBC’s “Smash”), Cheyenne Jackson (Xanadu, NBC’s “30 Rock”), Jesse L. Martin (Rent, NBC’s “Law & Order”), and Nicole Parker (Wicked, FOX’s “MADtv”).  The Musical Director for the evening is Phil Reno.

Miscast is a one-night-only musical spectacular featuring Broadway’s hottest stars performing songs from roles in which they would never be cast!  Proceeds from Miscast 2013, as always, support MCC Theater’s mission to develop and produce exciting work Off-Broadway as well as its Youth Company and partnerships with New York City public high schools, and sustain MCC’s literary development work with emerging playwrights.
