ON AUGUST 2nd and 9th

New York, NY (July 10, 2014) – Gallow Green at The McKittrick Hotel (542 West 27th Street), home of Sleep No More, will host a Children’s Potions & Planting Tea Party on two Saturdays in August (8/2 and 8/9) at 10:00 a.m. atop The McKittrick located in Chelsea near The High Line.  Boy and girls aged 6-11, as well as their favorite stuffed animal or teddy bear, are invited to join us in the garden for planting and potion-making with the garden’s residents. Children are encouraged to bring a recyclable bottle to make their own potions (with special powers) that they will be able to bring home; and the garden’s residents will provide lessons in planting as well as offering take-home mini flower press, plant soil, and seeds so the children can teach others how to plant and seed.  While all adults and young guests must have a paid reservation, dolls and teddy bears may enter free of charge and will get their own miniature seat and personalized bib. Admission includes a traditional English high tea platter, refreshing pink lemonade, and hands-on lessons in potions and planting. Gallow Green is a meticulously-designed green space in the heart of Chelsea—steps away from the High Line—featuring an extensive cocktail and punch menu, vivid scenery, and a garden snack menu designed by Chef R.L. King. Daily service, beginning at 5:00 p.m., offers early guests an after-work or evening/weekend snack & drinks setting which, as the evening progresses, takes on a more vibrant cocktail-nightlife atmosphere.  Reservations nightly for parties of 8 or more are recommended, and can be booked online at www.mckittrickhotel.com or by calling 212-564-1662.  Walk ups are welcome. Gallow Green is open 5:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. on weeknights, with late night hours on the weekends. On weekends, Gallow Green also offers bottomless brunch service.

The spring opening of Gallow Green marks the complete restoration of The McKittrick Hotel, which also houses Sleep No More, the jazz-age inspired Manderley Bar, and the recently-opened fine dining experience The Heath, a full-service restaurant.

Gallow Green serves up bottomless brunches that feature a variety of selections including: Scallion Scrambled Eggs with gruyere; Cold Fried Chicken with black pepper honey; Kale Caesar Salad; and more. Brunch is served from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays, and 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sundays.

Additionally, Gallow Green houses an aeroponic garden that produces vegetables all summer long to supply both Gallow Green and its sister restaurant, The Heath. The garden produces strawberries, lettuces of different size and color, summer squashes, cucumbers, tomatoes, and edible flowers and herbs. Most of the fruits and vegetables grown are used in the seasonal cocktails at Gallow Green and The Heath.

The Heath, the new restaurant inside The McKittrick Hotel just below Gallow Green, offers a fine dining experience created by Sleep No More creators Punchdrunk with a menu by Chef R.L. King, featuring his modern take on classic American and British fare. The Heath officially opened on November 26, 2013, and this spring and summer, The Heath will be open nightly Wednesdays through Saturdays.

Both Gallow Green and The Heath are extensions of the immersive theatre production Sleep No More. Created by UK-based Punchdrunk and produced in New York by EMURSIVE, Sleep No More tells Shakespeare’s classic tragedy Macbeth through a noir-inspired cinematic staging, and is currently on sale.

The creative team of Sleep No More features Felix Barrett (Direction and Design), Maxine Doyle (Direction and Choreography), Stephen Dobbie (Sound Design), Beatrice Minns (Design Associate), and Livi Vaughan (Design Associate).

Sleep No More is produced by EMURSIVE (Jonathan Hochwald, Arthur Karpati, and Randy Weiner, principals) in association with rebecca gold productions. EMURSIVE produces immersive theatre in extraordinary places.
