THE MCKITTRICK HOTEL ANNOUNCES FINAL PERFORMANCE OF
VOX MOTUS’ INNOVATIVE AND INTIMATE THEATRICAL EXPERIENCE
FLIGHT

NEW YORK TIMES “CRITICS’ PICK” CLOSES APRIL 20

New York, NY (April 13, 2018) – The McKittrick Hotel (530 West 27th Street, NYC), home of Sleep No More, and Scottish theatre company Vox Motus announce Flight, the genre-bending New York Times “Critics’ Pick,” will end its North American debut at the hotel on April 20. Tickets are still available for remaining performances.

Audiences and critics have been captivated by Flight’s moving tale and original form of narrative. The New York Times called the show “strange and exquisite and intensely affecting,” while The New Yorker exclaimed, “profoundly imaginative… gorgeously designed… unforgettable.”

Flight is an emotional and powerful work of art that invites the audience into its poignant story of human courage. Vox Motus Artistic Directors Jamie Harrison and Candice Edmunds created this unique and transporting experience based on British playwright Oliver Emanuel’s adaptation of Hinterland, a 2012 novel by Caroline Brothers.

Following a critically-acclaimed run at The Edinburgh International Festival in 2017, Flight received the prestigious “Herald Angel Award” before crossing the pond to partner with Emursive, who produce Sleep No More in New York.

The innovative and intimate theatrical experience debuted on January 30 at The McKittrick’s performance space The Heath. Extended residencies of Scotland’s At The Illusionist’s Table (making a return September 2018) and the 2017 Drama Desk Award-winning The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart have also recently been hosted there.

“It has been a true honor to host Scotland’s acclaimed Vox Motus company at The McKittrick Hotel. Their innovative creation Flight represents a new form of storytelling that moved our audiences and critics alike. After three sold out extensions, we are sad to see this production check out of the hotel and look forward to working with them again in the near future,” said Jonathan Hochwald, an Emursive Principal.

Tickets for the hour-long experience are $45, and reservations are available every 45 minutes from 5-9:30pm on weekdays and 2-11pm on weekends. Copies of Hinterland are also available for purchase. Visit https://mckittrickhotel.com/events/flight for schedule and tickets.

Flight is playing through April 20 at The Heath, located in The McKittrick Hotel at 542 West 27th Street, New York, NY 10001. Tickets are available online at www.mckittrickhotel.com or by calling the Box Office at 212-904-1880.
