TO THROW A “CUT-IN”

**HAIR TRIMMINGS WILL BE USED TO HELP CONTAIN GULF OIL DISASTER

Who: Tribe members from the Tony Award-winning musical HAIR, including Diana DeGarmo, Annaleigh Ashford, and many more.

What: Stylists from Bumble and bumble will give free haircuts to attendees while they listen to HAIR and get to meet their favorite Tribe members. All hair clippings from the afternoon will be used to create highly absorbent hair booms to help contain the oil crisis in the Gulf of Mexico.

Note: The hair trimmings collected during this event will be donated to Matter of Trust, an environmental non-profit that has helped clean up oil spills since 1998 by reusing donated hair clippings from hair salons, barber shops, pet groomers, and wool farmers. Stuffing this donated hair into donated nylon stockings, this organization is creating highly absorbent booms to help contain the oil crisis in the Gulf of Mexico. HAIR, which opened on Broadway in 2009, won the 2009 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical. Directed by Diane Paulus and choreographed by Karole Armitage, HAIR features a book and lyrics by Gerome Ragni and James Rado and music by Galt MacDermot. HAIR continues its triumphant run at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street, NYC).
