This much anticipated production – which begins previews next week at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre – is a journey through the life of our country’s greatest singer-songwriter, but also a celebration of a time in music history. Legendary songs like “I Feel the Earth Move” and “So Far Away” speckle this success story about an innocent girl who finds herself writing the songs of a generation. Jessie Mueller captures the heart of King, but manages to find a unique and soulful voice in her performance. She’s been at it all day, so you can experience two and a half hours of pure bliss.
