Sami Gayle, star of TV show, ‘Blue Bloods’, joins us, via Belleville, to The Couch. Gayle is no stranger to the stage, having appeared in Broadway’s Gypsy alongside Patti LuPone and Laura Benanti as Baby June and as Annie Who in the original Broadway cast of Dr. Seuss’s How The Grinch Stole Christmas. With a multitude of screen and stage acting and producing credits behind her, the role of Adele (and her arsenal of model faces), in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Bad Cinderella is in safe hands.
What do you consider to be your best asset?
My fearlessness. I’m not afraid to try something new, to make a bold choice, nor to fail… that bravery has led me to some of the most fulfilling experiences of my life.
What was your proudest moment?
During the pandemic, I had the opportunity to co-manage a full time, virtual campaign internship program in support of my brother’s campaign for Supervisor of Elections in Broward County, Florida. Being a part of an effort so much larger than myself and helping over 80 young people understand what it means to run for public office was the honor of my life.
What is your favorite drink?
Shirley Temple. Gotta support my fellow child actors.
What is your favorite food?
French fries dipped in a milkshake.
What is your favorite condiment?
A milkshake. 🙂
What is your current obsession?
Adele’s arsenal of model faces. Lately, I’ve been focused on Blue Steel (yes, I mean Ben Stiller’s look), as well as her “Oh my god, I’m so hot” face (think open mouth, catching flies).
If you could give up one of your vices, what would it be?
What is the one professional accomplishment you long for most?
I would love to play Dot in Sunday in the Park with George.
What is the one thing you waste too much money on?
Jewelry. Gold is an alternative investment, though. Just saying.
What is the one activity you waste too much time doing?
Revising text messages. I edit as if every message is headed to The New York Times.
What do you consider to be the single greatest threat to your health?
Not being happy.

Happy accidents. I love the magic that stems from chance encounters.
What current trend in popular culture most irritates you?
Tiktok sounds. (That said, I STILL can’t wait to make them for our show! Everything is better when it’s for our show! :))
What was the most embarrassing moment you’ve ever experienced on the job?
I got my period unknowingly while shooting a scene in a car that I’m pretty sure I didn’t exit for multiple hours. Still wondering if the stains came out!

What would have to happen to make today the best day of your life?
Well, I had covid during tech and tested negative just in time to be back for previews so honestly, today already feels like the best day of my life. Don’t need anything more!

Risk yields reward. Take the leap and FLY. The worst that can happen is that things don’t work out.
