NEW  OPENING NIGHT SET FOR JUNE 21ST

 

 

New York, NY (May 16, 2017)  – Producers of  Seeing You, a new immersive experience have announced that a new block of tickets have been added through August 31, 2017. It was previously announced for a limited six-week engagement.  Seeing You will be performed at a former meat market in the Meatpacking District, underneath The High Line, at 450 W 14th Street.  Tickets are now on-sale at SeeingYou.NYC.

 

Seeing You transports audiences into a memory of not-so-distant wartime anxiety, told through a seductive mix of maximal-impact-choreography and intimate encounters. A truly singular—and unnervingly timely—experience, the music-filled Seeing You unfolds inside a historic expanse underneath The High Line, bringing us disarmingly close to a tight-knit community during WW2 suddenly at odds as patriotism gives way to uncertainty and fear.

 

Seeing You is the result of a collaboration between Randy Weiner, Ryan Heffington, and  Cantora (Will Griggs and Nick Panama), featuring production and costume design by Desi Santiago.

 

Randy Weiner has been hailed as “the leading impresario of nontraditional theater in New York” by The New York Times, and “a mad genius of nightlife” by the Wall Street Journal. He is a producer of Sleep No More at the formerly abandoned McKittrick Hotel and is the creator of Queen of the Night at the Diamond Horseshoe at the Paramount Hotel.

 

Ryan Heffington, who has been described as both “Martha Graham on meth” and “a force to be reckoned with” by the Los Angeles Times, is a performance artist, choreographer, designer, director and the owner of The Sweat Spot dance space in Los Angeles. His collaboration with Sia on the “Chandelier” music video has garnered more than 1.5 billion internet views and he has worked with dozens of artists such as FKA Twigs, Paul McCartney and Arcade Fire. His most recent work includes the Netflix’s series “The OA” and his collaboration with Spike Jonze on Kenzo’s perfume commercial.

 

Desi Santiago is a New York City-based Puerto Rican visual artist. Santiago’s artistic practice spans from 1990 to the present and is heavily influenced by the subcultures of nightlife, crossing over into the worlds of fashion and art. Santiago has previously collaborated with luxury brand Louis Vuitton for their Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs Retrospective at Musee des Arts Decoratif in Paris. He has designed fashion presentations for Loewe, Opening Ceremony, Y-3 and a fashion exhibition at Lincoln Center in New York City honoring Carolina Herrera. Santiago has also designed masks and costumes for McQueen: Savage Beauty (Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, 2010 and V&A Museum, London, 2015), Madonna’s MDNA tour, and Hedwig and The Angry Inch on Broadway.

 

Cantora, led by Will Griggs and Nick Panama, is an entertainment venture group known for signing and developing internationally recognized artists such as MGMT, Bear Hands, and Francis and the Lights, producing live events across the US and Europe, and investing in early stage startups through what TIME Magazine calls “a music-culture-cool tech fund that doesn’t lack for ambition.” Today, Cantora is focused on building entertainment experiences that reshape the relationship between audiences and performers.
