New York, NY (11/19/2013) – SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark, the Broadway spectacular that defied odds and expectations to conquer New York, is moving to Las Vegas, the entertainment capital of the world. After more than three historic years on Broadway, the show play its final performance at the Foxwoods Theatre on January 4, 2014. Additional information on the upcoming Las Vegas production will be announced in the weeks to come. SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark is currently the 16th highest grossing Broadway production of all time, having taken in more than $200 million at the box office. The show has been seen by approximately two million fans, and will have played 1,268 performances by the time it takes its final bow at the Foxwoods Theatre.

The fastest show in Broadway history to reach one million audience members, SPIDER-MAN also shattered the record for the highest single-week gross of any show in Broadway history for the week ending Sunday, January 1, 2012; shattered the Broadway single-week attendance record that same week, playing to 17,375 audience members (100.02% capacity of The Foxwoods Theatre); set the weekly box office record of $2,941,790.20; and shattered the annual box office record of the Foxwoods Theatre by almost $35 million.
SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark began preview performances on November 28, 2010, and quickly became one of the most famous theatrical events in Broadway history, playing to packed houses and standing, screaming ovations nightly. The show officially opened on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 in front of the most star-studded crowd in Broadway history, including the likes of President Bill Clinton, Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Chelsea Clinton, Matt Damon, Robert De Niro, Jay-Z, Barbara Walters, Cindy Crawford, Steve Martin, Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber, Helena Christensen, Lesley Stahl, Gayle King, Salman Rushdie, Liam Neeson, Lou Reed, John McEnroe, Fran Lebowitz, Gina Gershon, Ben Vereen, Harry Belafonte, Jullian Lennon, Spike Lee, and Jimmy Fallon.
SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark features music and lyrics by 22-time Grammy® Award-winners Bono and The Edge and a book co-written by Julie Taymor, Glen Berger and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, with direction by Ms. Taymor and additional direction by Philip William McKinley. Scenic Designer George Tsypin and Costume Designer Eiko Ishioka are winners of Outer Critics Circle Awards and were nominated for Tony® Awards for their work on SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark.
The world’s most recognizable Super Hero leaps off the comic book pages and onto the Broadway stage in SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark. Peter Parker’s ordinary teenage life takes a turn for the extraordinary when he’s bitten by a genetically altered spider and suddenly finds himself endowed with incredible superpowers.
