New York, NY – The producers of Spiegelworld are holding a casting call in New York City in search of the next wave of high-skill circus and variety acts to amp up their current roster of daredevil performers, currently on display in the hit productions Empire (in Times Square) and Absinthe (at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas). Auditions, limited to New York-based acts, will be by invitation only and will take place on Thursday, August 16th from 12pm-5pm at Caesar’s Spiegeltent (265 West 45th Street), home of Empire. Interested candidates should submit materials (CV, videos, photos) in advance to casting@spiegelworld.com. Auditions will include opportunities for domestic and international resident shows, touring productions, and special events. In the midst of its smash-hit, sensation-causing run of Absinthe at Caesars Palace Las Vegas, Spiegelworld has spent the summer reinventing the traditions of circus, cabaret, variety and burlesque for the 21st century audience in its all new show, Empire, which pitched its infamous tent at 265 West 45th Street and has been one of Times Square’s most popular summer destinations. Preview performances began on May 22, 2012, with an official opening night of May 31, 2012. Empire is presented in New York by Related Companies and Boston Properties.
With some of the sexiest, most daring artists ever to arrive on Broadway, Empire features international legends such as Moondog, Carrot Man, Polka Dot Woman, Rubbish Bag Lady, Lime Green Lady, and many, many, many more!
Spiegelworld first came to life in New York City in the summer of 2006. At its core is a unique venue: a heritage 440-seat Belgian spiegeltent. Popular across Europe during the early 20th century, the luxurious traveling spiegeltents were used as dance halls and music/cabaret venues, featuring intimate in-the-round seating, ornate wooden panelling, mirrors, stained-glass windows, and velvet-upholstered seating booths.
Spiegelworld also features a carnival-style bar facility and a speakeasy VIP lounge. Since 2006, summer productions were presented in New York City on Pier 17, South Street Seaport. Spiegelworld has produced a range of acclaimed shows within the spiegeltent, including Absinthe, La Vie, Late Night Lounge and Desir, and has also toured to Miami South Beach and Melbourne where they were the feature entertainment of the 2009 Australian Open tennis grand slam.

The performance schedule is as follows: Monday at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday – Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. and Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
