Every day is opening night.

“Stars Bring Light”

Ladies and gents,

Well, it’s been nearly three weeks since the Tony nominations were announced, and the champagne shortage of 2014 drags on. It seems that every day there’s a new reason to celebrate. I’m just back from the Drama League Awards, so let me say congratulations to Neil Patrick Harris who took home the once-in-a-lifetime performance award, as well as to the productions of A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, All The Way, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and The Glass Menagerie, which all won their respective production categories. I love this annual ceremony, because it’s always such a delightful assortment of theatricals nominated. My favorite moment this year? The brilliant Jefferson Mays working the press line with coffee cup in hand. What a charmer!

Apologies, dear readers, for the brief column today. They say brevity is the soul of wit. I say it’s merely a sign of exhaustion, laziness, or preoccupation. I have the plead guilty on two out of three counts. Though I’m never lazy, I am exhausted and a wee bit preoccupied trying to find a suitable outfit for dinner tonight with the likes of Cindy Adams, Salman Rushdie, and Bill Nye the Science Guy. Only in New York, kids!

As always, a toast of something sparkling to you and yours!

Kisses,
