New York, NY (5/13/13) – On Tuesday, May 14 the SoHo Playhouse (15 Vandam Street, NYC) will host a talkback discussing “The Making and Fate of Off-Broadway” following the 8:00 p.m. performance of The Drawer Boy, now playing the SoHo Playhouse’s Mainstage. The talkback will be hosted by SoHo Playhouse Artistic Director, Darren Lee Cole, and will feature guest speaker, playwright and director, Alexander Dinelaris. As a playwright, Alexander Dinelaris’ productions include Red Dog Howls with the New York Theater Workshop, The Bodyguard, Current West End Productions, and Still Life at Manhattan Class Company. And as a director, Alexander’s productions include American Rapture and The Drawer Boy for Oberon Theatre Ensemble, The Chaos Theories with Shotgun Productions, and After Hours for Dramatists Rep Co. Dinelaris has been nominated for two Drama Desk Awards and has recently begun work on the latest film by director Alejandro González Iñárritu (Babel, 21 Grams, Biutiful). He has also just completed work on two original screenplays, The Year of the Monarchs, and In This, Our Time. Dinelaris is a member of the Dramatists Guild and NYTW’s Usual Suspects.

Winner of the Dora Mavor Moore Award for Outstanding New Play, a Chalmers Award, and a Governor General's Award, The Drawer Boy made its New York City premiere in March 2013 in a workshop presented by The Oberon Theatre Ensemble at the June Havoc Theatre in The Abington Theatre Arts Complex. A Critics’ Pick and called “a beautifully written piece, humorous and heart-wrenching” by The New York Times, The Drawer Boy now plays the SoHo Playhouse with the original New York Premiere cast and creative team.

The Drawer Boy plays at the SoHo Playhouse (15 Vandam Street, NYC) Tuesdays through Sundays at 8:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday at 3:00 p.m., until June 16, 2013.
