New York, NY (4/19/2012) – Tony Award®-winner Alice Ripley (Next to Normal; Side Show) has released an official music video for her latest single, “Beautiful Eyes.” The video, shot around town in NYC and directed by John Carucci, is now available on Vimeo.com and YouTube.com. The single is available for digital download via iTunes and other digital music vendors.
“When I chose 'Beautiful Eyes' as RIPLEY's first digital single, it was with the audience's economic and musical satisfaction in mind,” Ms. Ripley said about the song. “For $.99 cents listeners can hear what we've cooked up for them: only the best high quality song ingredients, tasty grooves, flavorful lyrics that are fun to chew.”
It was also announced today that Ms. Ripley will play a concert at New York City’s Metropolitan Room (34 West 22nd Street) on Sunday, May 27th at 7:00 PM (doors open at 6:15 PM). “Alice Ripley’s Daily Practice” features Ms. Ripley on vocals and guitar, along with the return of her band, RIPLEY and special guests.
In 2011, Ripley released Daily Practice, an album of 10 acoustic covers of classics from Bruce Springsteen to Carole King. Her live show features some of these crowd favorites, along with surprising versions of show tunes from musicals like Side Show, Next to Normal and The Who’s Tommy, all Broadway shows in which Ripley was a member of the original casts. Now, joined by Lauren Molina on cello and vocals, and Nick Cearley on noisemakers and vocals, the 6 piece band lets Alice turn full throttle rock star – all the while retaining the intimacy of the audience being in her living room as she does her daily practice.

ABOUT ALICE RIPLEY
Singer/songwriter Alice Ripley received the 2009 Tony award and the 2009 Helen Hayes award for her performance in the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Next to Normal. She also received Tony and Drama Desk nominations for the short-lived Broadway cult hit Side Show. In 2001, Sh-K-Boom records released her critically acclaimed Everything's Fine – a pop-folk mix that showcased haunting lyrics in an original song cycle of soft-core suburban hell. On her band RIPLEY’s 2006 album, Outtasite, the music rocked harder and cut the figure of an attention-getter with a killer voice. Her most recent release, Daily Practice, is a collection of solo acoustic covers from Carole King to U2, all songs that have inspired her as a performer and writer.
