New York, NY (3/2/11) – The Carlyle Hotel (Erich Steinbock, Managing Director) is pleased to welcome Olivier and Tony Award-winner Douglas Hodge (La Cage Aux Folles) to the legendary Café Carlyle in his debut engagement. Beginning Tuesday, March 15 (and playing through Saturday, March 26), Mr. Hodge returns to New York to offer an evening of great American story songs, including some of his own compositions from the new musical, Meantime. He will play piano, guitar, and sing with support from a 3-piece band: Sonny Paladino (piano/musical director), Steve Millhouse (bass), and Jared Schonig (drums).

The Café Carlyle is located in The Carlyle Hotel – 35 East 76th Street at Madison Avenue.

An Evening with Douglas Hodge plays Tuesdays through Fridays at 8:45PM and Saturdays at 8:45PM and 10:45PM. There is a $75 music charge ($40, bar) for the Tuesday-Thursday performances and an $85 music charge ($50, bar) for the Friday and Saturday performances. Dinner (required) is served from 6:30PM. BIOGRAPHY

Douglas Hodge is a triple Olivier-nominated classical actor having worked at the National, RSC, Shakespeare’s Globe and Royal Court in his native England. He won a Tony and an Olivier Award for his performance as ‘Albin’ in La Cage Aux Folles. For ten years, he worked closely with Harold Pinter as an actor and director. He also served as associate director at the Donmar Warehouse in London, 2007-2009. He has two albums of his own compositions – Cowley Road Songs and Nightbus. Numerous television shows. Film: recent work includes The Descent Two and Robin Hood.
