WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 7TH – SUNDAY, DECEMBER 11th

New York, NYWaterwell, one of the Village Voice’s Best Arguments for Devised Theater (2010) and creators of GOODBAR and #9, announced today the opening of commedia dell’arte classic, Servant of Two Masters, starring 11-13 year old actors from their Theatrical Arts program at Professional Performing Arts School (PPAS) in Manhattan. Directed by Casey McClellan and featuring costume design by Deanna Friemann (home/sick, The Land Whale Murders), performances will be Wednesday, December 7th through Sunday, December 11th at the Professional Performing Arts School (328 West 48th Street in NYC).

The Theatrical Arts Program at PPAS, in partnership with Waterwell, offers world-class instruction in acting, singing and dancing to exceptionally talented middle school students absolutely free of charge. In addition to classes, students have the opportunity to work with professional directors and designers on full productions of both classical and contemporary plays, designed to strengthen their skills as both artists and citizens.

The creative team for Servant also includes Alexandra Regazzoni (Scenic Designer), Simon Cleveland (Lighting Designer) and Dale Bigall (Sound Designer). The cast of eleven is comprised entirely of middle school students at PPAS: Gus Birney, Scout Bushman, Alexandra Dell’Edera, Josiah Fluker-McInnis, Zeny Gatdula, Nora Gjieli, Anna Morino, Meeb Ranghelli, Bernard Scudder, Kyle Slater and Christopher White.

Performances at the PPAS Black Box are Wednesday December 7th at 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.; Thursday December 8th at 11:00 a.m.; Friday December 9th at 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.; Saturday December 10th at 2:oo and 7:00 p.pm.; and Sunday, December 11th at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 for PPAS students, $15 dollars for adults and can be purchased in advance at the PPAS Main Office (328 West 48th Street, 3rd floor). WATERWELL (Arian Moayed & Tom Ridgely, Artistic Directors) is a New York-based company of artists dedicated to the collaborative creation of new works for the theatre. Founded in 2002, they have devised eleven original plays, four cabarets and two staged readings, including GOODBAR, #9 and The|King|Operetta. Their work has been nominated for three IT Awards, a Drama Desk, a New York Magazine Culture Award and a Village Voice Best of NYC. Since 2010 Waterwell has partnered with the Professional Performing Arts School (PPAS) in Manhattan to provide world-class training to exceptional 6-12th graders absolutely free of charge.
