WILLIAMSTOWN THEATRE FESTIVAL
COMPLETES TEAM FOR 2011 SEASON

VETERAN STEPHEN M. KAUS TO JOIN AS PRODUCER

New York, NY (11/12/10) – Jenny Gersten, Artistic Director of the Williamstown Theatre Festival, announced today that Stephen M. Kaus will join her for the 2011 Season as producer.

“It's a natural progression for Steve to join the WTF as producer; he's been an integral part of this place for so long, and I'm looking forward to working together as the 2011 season is created,” Gersten commented.

Stephen M. Kaus has been working in the New York theater community for over a decade. He started as an intern at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in 2000, and has since worked as the Festival’s Stage Manger under the direction of Michael Richie, Roger Rees, and Nicholas Martin. He has known Jenny Gersten personally and professionally for 11 years. They worked together at WTF for four seasons, and have since collaborated on several shows at The Public Theater. Steve has Broadway, Regional, and Off-Broadway production stage manager credits that include productions with Roundabout, Lincoln Center Theater, MTC, Atlantic, The Public, The Old Globe, McCarter Theater, and WTF. He is currently serving as the Production Stage Manager for the Broadway transfer of The Merchant of Venice, staring Al Pacino. He was the Resident Stage Manager for three seasons at Boston’s Huntington Theatre Co. He also taught Stage Management for his alma mater at Boston University's College of Fine Arts (BFA).

Kaus said of the appointment: “I’m thrilled to be joining Jenny for her inaugural year as Artistic Director. I’m looking forward to helping make her fresh new take on WTF a reality, and I’m excited to bring my knowledge and passion for the theater back to the Berkshires.”
