ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL
CASTING FOR
NIKOS STAGE PRODUCTIONS

ARI GRAYNOR, JUSTIN LONG, LIZBETH MACKAY,
JOSH HAMILTON, MERRITT WEVER AND MORE
TO APPEAR IN 2011 SUMMER SEASON

Williamstown, MA (5/13/2011) – Artistic Director Jenny Gersten announced today additional casting for the Nikos Stage productions for the 2011 Williamstown Theatre Festival (WTF), the company’s 57th season and the first under Ms. Gersten’s leadership.

Esteben Andres Cruz (Jesus Hopped the A Train) as Pablo, Jennifer Engstrom (A Red Orchid Theatre Company) as Eunice, Ana Reeder (“Damages”) as Stella Kowalski, Daniel Stewart Sherman (Desire Under the Elms) as Mitch, Lou Sumrall (Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune) as Steve, and Kirby Ward (Never Gonna Dance) as Doctor, will take part in the David Cromer directed production of Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire (June 22– July 3, 2011), joining the previously announced Jessica Hecht and Sam Rockwell (as Blanche DuBois and Stanley Kowalski, respectively).

Ben Cole (recent NYU graduate), Ari Graynor (“Fringe”), Justin Long (Going the Distance; Samuel J. and K. at WTF) and Lizbeth MacKay (All My Sons; The Torch-Bearers at WTF) join the cast of Lewis Black’s comedy One Slight Hitch, alongside the previously announced Paige Howard and Mark Linn-Baker. Joe Grifasi directs the production, which plays July 6 – 17, 2011.

Josh Hamilton (The Coast of Utopia; Ancestral Voices at WTF) joins the cast of A Doll’s House as Torvald, replacing Hamish Linklater. Hamilton joins the previously announced Oscar Isaac, Matthew Maher, Lily Rabe and Lili Taylor in the production directed by Sam Gold (July 20 – 31, 2011).

Michael Chernus (Love and Other Drugs; Create Fate at WTF) as Billy, Lisa Joyce (La Bête; “Boardwalk Empire”) as Kay and Merritt Wever (“Nurse Jackie”) as Emma will take part in Beth Wohl’s comedy Touch(ed), directed by Trip Cullman and playing the Nikos Stage from August 3 – 14, 2011.

Closing the season on the Nikos Stage, Matthew Maher, Caitlin Miller, Jennifer R. Morris, and Robbie Collier Sublett of The Civilians will present their original work You Better Sit Down: tales from my parents’ divorce, August 16 – 21, 2011 (one week only!).
These shows join the previously announced Main Stage productions, which include Jon Robin Baitz’s two-person drama Three Hotels, the riotous Restoration comedy She Stoops to Conquer, and the American Premiere of John Doyle’s dazzling new musical Ten Cents a Dance. The Main Stage Season begins July 1, 2011 and runs through August 28, 2011.

Announcements regarding additional cast and creative team information for both Nikos Stage and Main Stage productions, as well as additional Festival events, are forthcoming.
