TAKES THE STAGE FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME

BROADWAY HISTORY IS MADE AS BIGGEST CAST CHANGE
IN MORE THAN FORTY YEARS TAKES PLACE

Who: The complete new Broadway HAIR “tribe,” including Ace Young (Berger), Diana DeGarmo (Sheila), Kyle Riabko (Claude), Annaleigh Ashford (Jeanie), Jeannette Bayardelle (Dionne), Vanessa Ray (Crissy), Wallace Smith (Hud) and Jason Wooten (Woof), along with HAIR c0-creator James Rado, the production’s Tony Award-nominated director Diane Paulus and HAIR producer (and Public Theater Artistic Director) Oskar Eustis.

What: Marking the biggest Broadway cast change in more than forty years, HAIR’s brand-new tribe will play its first performance. As was previously announced, the Tony Award-winning production’s original cast is headed to London and will begin performances at the Gielgud Theatre on Thursday, April 1, 2010, with Opening Night set for Wednesday, April 14th.

Note: HAIR, which opened on Broadway in March 2009 (and has recently appeared on many “Best of the Year” lists), won the 2009 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical. The Drama Desk, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle also honored the production with their 2009 award for Outstanding Revival of a Musical. Directed by Diane Paulus and choreographed by Karole Armitage, HAIR features a book and lyrics by Gerome Ragni and James Rado and music by Galt MacDermot. HAIR continues its triumphant run at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street, NYC).
